introduction

Post by kelleyfish »

hi i have come here in search of help, and guidance. i am not new to parrots, have had birds most of my life. i recently was given a 2 yr old (?) indian ringneck female, named peanut. she is a beauty. and of course has many behavior problems. it has been 2 weeks now, and i am wondering if i will ever be able to mesh with this birdy. the main problem is her constant screaming. it is constant. when we leave the room, when we enter the room. when we are in the room. whether we talk to her or ignore her. nothing seems to work. i have read everything out there on how to stop her from screaming, biut in reality nothing works. as much as i would love to have her be part of our family, if we cant unlearn this screaming she will not be staying. any all advice on this matter is greatly appreciated.
i look forward to getting involved here

Hm. Does she scream when she's eating? My first thought is foraging might help a lot.

Ellie, have some input?

I've been called 'birdbrained' before, but somehow I don't think this is what they meant. say:hah-nay

Hi Melika & Kelleyfish

I just stumbled across this post today. Sorry I didn't reply at the time. I will always recommend foraging. For more info Kelleyfish, you can check out this thread:
