price depends on where you are at as far as whwt you would have to breed it to a visual whwt and all the babies would be split whwt in order to get visual whwt birds you have to breed a visual whwt bird with another visual whwt bird and all babies will be visual whwt and if you breed a visual whwt bird with a bird that is split for whwt then the babies will be 50% visual and 50% splits hope this helps mike

I think you would be best starting with a coloured whwt and a split whwt in what ever color you can afford. Greys, Greens and Blues would be cheaper than say Violets or Cobalts and also mature birds would be dearer again. If you did use the Cobalt hen you mentioned you would need a whwt Cock bird to pair with her and then all young would be split as Mike said. Then when the young are 2 years old you would need to get some more whwt birds to pair back to them. It can be a long process. If it was the Cobalt whwt that you were after you would be better bying one already split to whwt and a blue whwt and you could be breeding them strait away.

violet/ct male with cobalt female will give you blue, violet blue, cobalt, and cobalt violet babies some split to cleartail and some not and the only way to tell which ones are split is by breeding them to a visual bird ! i would suggest if money is not an issue to get a visual cleartail instead of a split because a cobalt hen with a visual violet ct will give you the same color babies and all will be split. then if your lucky enough to get a cobalt female you can breed her back to her father and get blue, violet blue, cobalt, and cobalt violet babies that will be visuals or splits no guessing or test breeding
