Hey Ya'll:

Been offline for a bit but all is well and getting back to normal. We are all moved in and getting the kinks out... cable, utilities set up and what-not.

I think I posted pics of the house? If not and you would like to see it, let me know.

I was accused of being a bragger at one point so we dont want to go back there, certainly nothing to brag about. Absolutely something to share with friends :!:

Jeffrey is back in school. Actually, on the way to take all of the boys to school this morning a high schooler rear ended me. Poor kid, his dad was reaming his **** (on the cell phone so loud I could hear it).

I told the poor fella to hand over his driver's license and we will handle it without involving the law and I wrote down all of his info and called his Dad. This saves him insurance points for a) following too closely b) speeding in a 20 MPH school zone and c) unlawful use of a cell phone while a vehicle is in motion (trying to text message).

His Daddy said to take it to the dealership and send him the estimate, he would then send us a check. I didnt want this fella (17 yrs old) to have insurance points... his insurance at his age is already crazy.

I did right by them. I only hope they do the same. My husband was PISSED I didnt fry the kid and says we will never see a penny, despite the fact I copied all of his info off of his driver's license AND it was a company truck owned by the kids father. I did all a cop would have done, minus the cop.

After graduating law school, I think I am wise enough to handle a fender bender assuring repayment without destroying a kids driving record and if not so be it. I'll have a dented rear end and he'll have a clean driving record. I still feel good about it.

I dont like people in my business enough to be married... too independant. The whole thing gets on my nerves iffin ya want to know da truth. :wink:

Damn Girl don't listen to anyone that accuses you of bragging. Life is about sharing and when you are proud! of something, you damn well share it. If others think you are bragging or boastful thats their issue not yours, you know your intensions. And so do we

Now post those pics and brag to me darlin, hehe, I haven't seen them yet.

Sounds like you handled that fender bender just fine.

My world is all about christmas, children and birds right now , oh yeah and hubby .. hehehe (second thought there, wonder if that means anything lol)

Glad to see you're back. Was beginning to worry about u. Glad things are getting back to normal.

I for one would LOVE to see pics. of your new house. I love looking at people's houses and seeing how they decorate and trying to get new ideas. Of course I'm not creative at all. So I just think how nice it looks and go on with life.

How are the birds adjusting to moving. I have a friend who just moved and she has a 21 yr old Blue and Gold Macaw who is not handling the move well at all. She's started plucking. Angie has had her since she was a baby.

Snowing to beat the band right now. We're to get 6-8" overnight. Woo hoo. Will make the morning drive to work loads of fun. I hate winter. Every morning this week it's been 4 degrees or a tiny bit warmer before I leave for work. Again, I hate winter.

Hope all is well with everyone. Hope Christmas shopping is almost done. Chat with everyone soon.

Oh MY GOD! No one even talk about Christmas! I am hoping it will disappear if we pretend it does not exist.

I am sooooo disorganised! I have done nothing!!!!! Really!

Its Datsuns first Christmas with us because we got her just after Christmas last year. I have her prezzies but nothing for James or my family. I am such a last minute girl, gotta love that rush! :roll:

Datsun is learning carols because I play them all night every night. Her newest thing is to hummm along and then stop and say "what?!" sooo cute.

Mikaela, I wanna see pics! Im so glad my Baby is settling in well and Chief and 'Boo too.

-HUGE GROUP HUG-

I know we are all busy but somehow, over the past few months, we have taken the board from a... generic, straight to the point, no chit-chat, all business and no personal connection to a network of friends that love eachother. And care about eachother.

I would like to think my becoming site admin and being 'me' had something to do with that. That was my reason for creating the topic "Members Chat". There are so many beautiful, loving people here but it was like everyone was scared to take it anywhere close to personal and NEVER spoke about anything but birds.

To help eachother, we must know eachother. I'll use Jen as an example because she is cool and will be OK with it. When we were helping her with Byndi we had to first get to know her. To know her helped us help herself, to some degree.

All of us love our lives, and those of us that dont are working to chance what isnt right and if you arent then stop yo bitchin'. This is a place we can come to share things with people we also love and think of. Afterall, sad truth is, we all share a common interest that the rest of our families could care less about.

If I didnt have ya'll, I wouldnt have a single soul in the world to say "Look what Baby did today"! So, in long (hehe) I love you all just for being there.

Suns isnt up yet but pics of the new house will go up today... promise. Got that kick **** Kodak digi for my b-day so I am hoping the quality is better. I'll be upset if this 1200.00 cam is the same as my 300.00 cam. I have my old cam still for when we go to beach, on boat, anywhere it may not survive. If this Kodak aint da bomb, back in da box and bah bah.

I now put my babies on the screen lania in the mornings riiiiight before the sun comes up. They LOVE IT! I just have to keep a good eye that they dont flutter into the pool.

God, granny always said I had to be an attorney because I never shut my mouth. True even in text. I have a voice dammit! -giggle- And I am going to be heard -Climbs to the top of the highest mountain to say what is on her mind-

I feel the same way as Mikaela. I think of you guys as an extended family! And I so appreciate all your comments, help, and compliments. These are my babies and when you guys compliment them I feel so very proud! So thanks everyone! And thanks for being my friends! You guys rock!

Chamon, get to hoppin girl! Christmas is less than 20 days away. I love that you have Datsun's presents, but none for human family members. Too sweet. (And thanks for saying you love Milo! He's such a sweet bird!)

Well we got all the snow they said. And we're to get more tomorrow. Hooray. Driving to work was loads of fun in 6+ inches of snow. Ick. You people that live in a warm climate, Mikaela!-are so lucky. I HATE WINTER!!!!!!

Hey Dani,
I so do NOT get tired of you asking how Remmi is! I appreciate it! He's doing great. He's such a playful bird. I've never had a bird that enjoys playing so very much. Milo never wants to play with anything. And Byndi only occasionally plays. But my Remmi plays all the time. We just got him some cat toys at WalMart last night and he loves them. We got plastic balls with bells in them and then some colorful plastic jacks. He loves them. Except it's not fun for us cuz he's constantly dropping them and then the race is on between Boomer, my cocker, and one of the cats. They want the toys too. So we have to get them and get them back on Remmi's cage before the others. And sometimes I think he just throws them off to watch us scramble. As far as the birds getting along, they tolerate each other. That's about it. NO friendships in this bunch. Which bums me out. And John is really getting into them! I don't think he was much into Milo or Byndi cuz they didn't do anything. Milo just wants to hang out on us and be loved on. And Byndi just wants to bite. And John's not all about poop. They poop on him and he freaks. So he wasn't into them. But now with Remmi it's another story. I think he enjoys the activity level with Remmi. So he holds him and talks to him and is constantly moving the playstand over to his cage and fixing the rope perches so Remmi can climb back and forth from the playstand to his cage and so on. So it's cool. I'm just hoping if Remmi is entering the bluffing stage that doesn't push John away. He's not too into the idea of being bitten. He's seen what Byndi has done to me and I think that's always in the back of his head.

Jeez I've written a book. So I'm going to shut up for now. Get it in gear Dani and get shopping! It's 2 weeks from tomorrow. It's going to be here before we know it.

Awwww Jen that's great that he is willing to accept them...hehehe I've heard of men being jealous :roll:

Anyway yeah I know I have to get shopping...arrrgh christmas is here too soon. I want it to be september again... :lol:

I hope all is well with everyone (anyone heard from Melika yet? I worry about her...) and that you spoil your birds today like I plan too (Prinny and I are going out; She LOVES it!)

Interesting... my husband has NOTHING to do with my birds, yet, he comes home with new toys a few times a week and he too is forever rearranging their cages, buying them more perch ropes so they can move about more... things like that.

I dont know if our husbands are doing this out of love for us or for the birds. So, this was interesting to me because you had said your man isnt really involved. Then when you mention his level of involvement, it is identical.

I am a little proud of my man lately though. He will actually step the babies up and replace them to their stands. Before... Mikaelaaaaaa, come get your birds before I throw them in the yard. :cry:

Needless to say, I would remind him if anyone is put in the yard it will be him for it is HE I like the least.

Its funny. Jamie always says he doesn't like birds but when he doesn't see me around, he is fussing over Chook and blowing him kisses. He teases him no end but Chook absolutely loves it. he sees Jamie and a little light flicks in his eyes and he gets all excited and waiting for the play to begin (Chook, not Jamie). He especially loves to hide under the sheets and blankets and crouch into action. Jamie will put his hand near the sheet and Chook runs out and pretends to bite and reverses back into his hiding position until next time.

I think that all of our men do love our birds - they just don't want us to know how much in case we think they are 'soft'. Bloody men.

I have thought about it and through research I have learned that some men are actually jealous of their own newborns because all of mommies attention is elsewhere.

I suppose we should expect nothing less from our baby birds. Men. Cant live with them, cant legally kill them. Catch 22.

Yay! As personal as this is it is a HUGE deal for me so I share. So huge I usually have panic attacks.

I got my 'yearly' behind me yesterday... Yay! A whole yr before I have to do that again *happy dance*

You are so NOT the only one who hates them. I can't imagine not hating them. I got mine overwith last month. Men just do not realize how lucky and easy they have it. Jeepers, we go thru EVERYTHING and pretty much DO everything. I love my husband with all my heart and soul, but if the man actually got up and helped do something around the house I'd probably fall over and die. And a lot of that is his mother's fault. So all you mom's out there with an only son DO NOT RAISE THEM TO BE MAMA'S BOYS! Teach them to help their woman! Teach them it's ok to get off their butt and do dishes, or dust, or run the sweeper. My baby is a mama's boy and his mommy did everything for him growing up and so he doesn't think he needs to do it now. And I'm partly to blame too cuz I let him get away with it. But you gotta choose your battles and this one isn't worth it for me. Wow, did I just go off on a tangent or what?? I shall step off my soap box now. :oops:

LOL, what good girls ... I avoid my yearly. My husband makes the appointment and then drags me to them! The first few times he did that the docs had problems with him being in there with me, but when I was ready to get up and leave rather than have him leave... they got over it. I don't trust doc's and I'd rather have hubby there to beat them up if something goes wrong LOL.

Oh, and Honey, husbands are made that way! Mine thinks we have a cleaning fairy, cooking fairy, and laundry fairy. He sure doesnt give any credit to me for those things

. It still ticks me off on occasion, but I figure I'm doing it because I like a clean house, good meals, and clean clothing... he just gets the byproduct of my desire

There is a new smear out. PLEASE ASK FOR IT ON YOUR NEXT VISIT. Research it NOW. It is the HPV smear which, now get this... not only checks for cancer NOW but predicts it later.

I swear Im telling the truth. If you have the pap and all cells are fine, you can skip yearlies more often and rest knowing you are ok.

I had it done and feel great about it. Now, I have to wait for my results.

Despite the fact I am married, he isnt impotent so I also get my AIDS test. I suppose I will always get tested for that, married or not. No matter how many times you are tested, the fear is still there for those three days.

If you have never been tested, please do, you owe it to yourself and everyone you know. People are living a very long time with HIV, if they find out soon enough and start treatment.

Ever wonder if you know someone with AIDS? I wonder, statistically speaking, we all do.

I know that if I found out someone I know had AIDS I would hold thier hand often, ask if I may hit their soda, hug them, kiss them... all the things others are afraid to do. They would think I was crazy but they would also think Mikaela makes me feel like Im not sick, no stigmas.

im pretty lucky my partner actually helps me around the house its his mates that annoy me.when tiffany was a baby i was able to sleep in because he would get up and feed and play with her.but i would rather be doing the lawns than doing dishes so we now share that too.hopefully we should have puppys soon.merry christmas to everyone.

Hey NEVER NEVER NEVER blow off your yearly smear. I had cervical cancer about 6 years ago and i had to go through hell with an operation and a radiation chip. The sickest I have ever been in my entire life. But, one sure way to lose a heap of weight!! Needless to say, this is why I only have one child. Your life is worth so much more than 10 minutes of embarassment/uncomfortableness.
