I placed an ad on gumtree trying to get some advice on my Mums Indian Ringneck, and someone sent me a link to this forum, so i am praying someone on here can help, Here is my post from gumtree:
Hi,
I am looking for someone who has a huge understanding of the Indian ringneck bird, I am in desperate need of some advice and assistance if possible.
I brought my Mother a 10 week old hand reared indian ringneck just before christmas last year, she started off ok, but has quickly become aggressive. She is handled as much as possible, although she has very much bonded to me and will bite my mum (hard!) if she tries to touch her or pat her. I can do anything with Cosmo (the birdies name!) but no one else can touch her, she isnt shy, she will happily sit on my mothers shoulder when it suits her!!
I no longer live with my Mum, and we were hoping that once i moved out she would bond to my mum, this hasn't happened, and understandably my Mum has had enough. Cosi lives in the lounge room, and is thoroughly spoilt, my Mum is the one to feed her, clean her etc but she insists on attacking my mum.
I understand that Indian ringnecks can bond strongly to one person, but what do you do if they bond to the wrong person! I cant take cosi, as i live in a rented house that allows no pets, My mum is ready to rehome cosi, but i am petrified that cosi will end up a lonely bitter aviary bird. Will Cosi ever bond to anyone else like she has me?? to me she is the sweetest most adorable little thing and i love her to bits!! unfortunatly to everyone else she is a little devil.
Any advice anyone could give me would be of so much help!! Im scared to re-home her, but that is fast becoming the only option

Please help me help my mum and Cosi bond, I know my mum would adore Cosi, If Cosi would just bond to my mum.
if you are an expert on Indian ringnecks please email me, i would be so appreciative!!
Thanks,
Megan
Im so glad someone sent me a link to this forum, and i really look forward to hearing any advice u may have for me!!! thanks so much
