DIY toys for ringnecks

Post by Carly »

Whats your favourite toy that you have made for your ringneck?

Mine like chewing, chewing, food and chewing, so I tend to make toys that cater to that!

the first one is 'pine cone on a string'. you take a pine cone, wrap a piece of sisal string around it (between the spikes) and then tie it to the cage.

another one i like is a food one. i have a large plastic feeder and i put a piece of hessian over it with two holes just big enough for IRN's head. then you put some nuts, dried fruit, and some non food like wooden craft sticks into the container. the birds have to pull each piece out through the holes.

share your ideas! i would love to hear how you keep your babies entertained!

Hey Carly:

By far, my baby girls favorite toy is the condo I made for them.

Like the Olson twins, all sisters need a party pad!

Dont crack on it, made it myself

These, I believe. Cheap and a great to shred! Also used as parts in many bird toys. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_finger_trap

I've been called 'birdbrained' before, but somehow I don't think this is what they meant. say:hah-nay
