When is the right time to take out of the cage.

Post by mymax »

Hello ,

I have got IRN(max) just 2 days ago. I am wondering when should let him/her come out of the cage...

I am trying to stay close to max so he get familiar with me as he was very scared first day next day bit less...he is improving i can see that however i still cant go really close to him.

Thanks

i would suggest leaving in the cage for atleast a week, until you can see they have calmed down and adjusted to the new environment, and your rhythms around the house. try eating meals, breakfast or even a snack, in front of the cage as this will help adjust. when they seem interested after a few days, start opening the door while you are there eating.

iggy, my first IRN, came from an abused home and at first we couldnt get within 2 metres of the cage. this is what we did and have now earnt her trust so much that she will be petted and loves being in our company, becoming quite cranky when we dont give her attention.

Thanks..Max situation is same ...he has been abused and not looked after. so i am tryin to do things really slow when i am close to the cage so he can see what i m doing. I hope that max will be same as your bird and come out of the cage after a week or so.
