SEEEING BIGGLES

Post by krazy_kate00 »

sorry had to tell someone... because everyone is sick of me rambling on about irns and i thought who better to tell than a bunch of ppl as crazy about irns as i am. I am seeing Biggles on saturday!!!!!!!!!

I have wanted an irn since about febuary this year and mum finally agreed to get me one for my birthday! (which is on the 13th of december) so two weeks ago we went to a breeder and i looked at irns but none of them really caught my eye much then ... i heard a little noise comming from a cage in the corner of the room and there was biggles !!! he was only about 1 week old. I put my hand into the cage and he came up to it soo sweet! ive seen him once after that and am seeing him again this saturday! i havent seen him in two weeks and the lady says he is the most affectionate and intelligent irn they have ever seen in their 20 years of irn breeding!
i still have 1.5weeks till i bring him home and counting! :D He is green and hand raised (and a male lol) sooo excited. What was it like when every one else brought their baby home?

Congrats! I remember bringing Prinny home. The wait was sooo hard and that last week just about killed me :D Cute name by the way...Biggles. I own an ablino (duh...just look at my avatar hehehe) named Princess. Once you get one you become addicted and they become the center of your life...or maybe it's just me

Yep, the wait is a killer! I met Tiki when he was 5 weeks old and I had another 3 1/2 weeks to go. I emailed the breeder about every other day for an update and when Tiki was finally weened it was during Memorial Day weekend, so I had to wait a few more days to go pick him up! The night before I went to pick him up, I could hardly sleep and then I had to wait until after I got off work to pick him up, and then to top it off I had to sit in rush hour traffic for about 15 miles! Biggles sounds great! Make sure you handle him every day and make sure you teach him the step up command right away or he will become a bear to handle! They revert back to wild very easy and fast if you don't give them alot of attention every day. Tiki's cage is in our living room, so he get tons of attention, because there is always someone home - well usually. I bought him a flight suit and have even taken him to the mall with me. I can't wait until you are able to post pic's of your little guy! Congrats!

yes i was wondering about the flight suits because i would be to scared to take him on outings even with his wings clipped just in case there was a freak gust of wind or something. Does Tiki like the flight suit? I've seen them on the internet and they look like a really good idea.

 not just you! Kai is the first thing on my mind when I wake up last when I go to sleep. Love him sooo much, just like a new baby in the family. Some mornings (inside his cage under his blankey) when I haven't heard him chatter I get that heart drop feeling where I have to go check he is ok  JUST like a new baby. :D

Whew! *giggles* I am glad that you all are like that too... Prinny is like a baby to me. Every morning I am glad to hear her calling for me...gives me a reason to get up from my warm bed. I wouldn't trade her for the world...infact she is the world so that works. I'm sure everyone else here is just as nutso as me...makes me feel better  I enjoy every moment she has ever given me...from her lunging and aggression (Sorry but she is sooo cute when she tries to be 'mean' ) to her kisses and purrs of affection. I love my ringneck! hehehe...'k I'll settle down now

Be careful and make sure the addiction doesnt spread.. I started off with a cockatiel and over time I got more and more birds..

I now have 4 Sun Conures, 6 Indian Ringnecks, 6 Princess Parrots, 6 cockatiels, 2 Red Rumps, 2 Japanese Quail, And 10 Aviary Ringnecks.

DONT LET THIS BE YOU :P

As pretty as they are resist the urge >.<

Amen, this is truly an addiction so PLEASE chose wisely. I am stuck with a cockatiel (whom I love but wake up for Gods sake), thereby, not allowing me to get another type bird. My man has put his foot down and cosidering how I rarely allow this, I'll give him this one... hey, not everyone wants to live in a zoo, I happen to enjoy it.

However, should I see something I MUST HAVE he can make the decision to stay or go hehe. And I AM getting my cockatoo because I asked a million people and ALL say they can live outside all year in Florida. But then I wonder... why wouldnt anyone just come onto my Lania and take the bird? Sure it has happened. As a matter of fact hehe... if I knew where there was a cockatoo on someones back Lanai I would have one today -giggle-

Kidding, sorta.

You have a very cool mum! My Mom was the same way! I think it's great when parents let their children have pets. I grew up with rabbits, chinchilla, rat, mice, cats, dogs, guinea pigs, and I think that's it. My parents were the greatest and from them I got my love for animals. I used to say I swore my Dad would have let me bring an elephant home if I'd have asked. So tell your Mum that Jen from the board says she's very cool and thanks for letting you have so many cool pets!
