Hi, I am looking at breeding with my pastel blue lacewing hen, the cock bird i am looking at getting is a split lacewing (mother pastel blue lacewing and father was a pastel cobalt) Does anyone know if this combination will work? what colors might they throw?

Re: lacewing colors
No worries,
I have at this stage had an unsuccessful year with breeding aswell.
Both my pairs are first time breeder and they have laid eggs but the pair i can checks eggs on both times have not been firtile.
(Green/blue ino male and a Turquiose blue lacwing hen)
The other pair well lets just say they would prefer i didnt go in the cage let alone the nest box!
(Blue cinnimon male and a grey hen)
Also if you are interseted in working out colours then go to the following site www.gencalc.com and then choose the scientific name for ringnecks, it takes time to work out but once you get the hang of it its pretty easy.
Thanks Glenn

Re: lacewing colors
Cobalt is what they call dark factor,as an example if you have a blue bird and it was really really dark blue it has whats called dark factor it isnt something that is just for lacewings but it can only happen on the blue series gene.
Now to enter silver hen it is as follows grey blue cinnimon = silver (grey cinnimon)
Ok if its really an olive and not a grey green then just tick the dark.
With the lacewings at a gues with out seeing them the two blueish one are probably just blue lacewing and the others are probably pastel blue lacewings..
Thanks Glenn

Re: lacewing colors
OK you click on the left hand side for the male the following.
Based on original you said the bird would be split to lacewing.
click turquoise (pastel)
click Dark (cobalt)
click Blue T1 (split to colume)
click on th split to colum pallid (lacewing)
for the female
click Turquoise
click Blue (split to colume)
click Pallid.
So what you should have on you result is
D Turquoise(parblue) blue /Pallid = male
Turquoise (Parblue) blue pallid = female
Thanks Glenn
