hello all!

Post by skittles »

Hello! my name is Skittles! I am just fourteen weeks old, my mommy just brought me home on Friday. My mommy loves me to death! There are some other fids here that think I am interesting, but mostly they kind of ignore me right now. The cats are scared of me, mommy says it is because they remember another bird she had that bit them. I keep wanting the play with the dogs, but mommy won't let us for some reason. The kids, wow! they love me alot too, but they keep talking about this other bird, and act like they are afraid of me. I try to tell them I won't bite, but I am new at this talking thing still. Anyway, my mommy will try to get pictures on here soon! we are loving reading your stories and seeing your pictures! I love seeing friends!

By the way, mommy has 2 questions: how much fruit and vegetables should she feed me? (Please say alot, because I really love them!) and should she feed me grit or use grit paper?

i know to steer clear of mushrooms & avacado cause you will get very sick from them
with shell grit i was told to use the grit but i used seed sticks that have the grit in them that way i know they eat it we would love to see picks of you

WELCOME SKITTLES & MUMMY of SKITTLES. :D

Sounds like you have a loving family there plus lots of playmates when you get bigger, (if you want playmates down the track lol)

I feed my birds around 1/2 - 2/3 cup fruit and veg daily. Just depending on how condensed the fruit and veg sit in the bowls as to how much they actually get.

I don't feed any of my birds grit.

Thanks for letting me know how much fruit and veggies to feed the baby! She is horribly spoiled all ready! She knows when we come in the room, she has a chance to get out of the cage, and she squeaks at us to come and get her! She sees us eating fruit and cries for food. It is good to know that I can give it to her.

Skittles is really helping me overcome the loss of my quaker, about 18 months ago, I lost him and she is helping finish the grieving process. I will post pictures as soon as I figure out how!
