Hi,
I have found most of my birds vary with weaning.
Some eat on their own from around 7 weeks of age, while others take a bit longer.
My birds have been fully weaned and eating food by the age of 10 weeks old.
They still do the baby cries but refuse formula when offered.
I start offering mashed fruit & veg, soaked seed, and millet sprays from the age of 4 1/2 - 5 weeks old as well as continuing with the formula. When ever I start noticing the chicks taking an interest in other items and picking at them, I offer different foods for them to try.
