New IRN owner. just a few questions

Hello we have Two IRN. A Male Creamino (Max, 2 1/2) and a Female Lutino (Ruby, 2 1/2-3) .
At what age are they ready for breeding :roll:

and how do I discourage it???? :oops:

Being a new owner I dont want to have to look after babies, also, I just want to concentrate on the two we already have

Another thing Im aware of is that they dont show pain and when my male was out for the first time he did alot of flying into things generally the mirror (which is now being covered when they are let out of the cage), he doesnt seem hurt

and hes eating, drinking and playing fine. because we dont really know his proper behaviour and personality, we are still in the settling/bonding/trusting stages, I just thought I would ask.

I know there was something else I wanted to ask but I cant seem to remember it right now.

.....ha ha I knew I would remember eventually......
with regards to these birds talking..... is it possible to teach a them both the talk??
we now know that they havent been handled alot and we have be very patient and doing things slowly and on their terms by watching their behaviour when we are around them.

as long as they are in the same cage I don't know how you could discourage them from breeding.
I have aviary birds that talk, so I would assume that they could be taught to talk. Have you got any pics of your birds for us to see?

I think basically if you don't supply a nesting box you will be fine. Also if you are trying to interact and tame these two down (if you don't want to breed them that is) you should clip them. Makes them easier to handle and less likely to fly away or into things. It will also make the mating probability less likely. Just my thoughts.

You need to get started on the talking thing sooner than later as I believe from what I have read the first 5 years are their main learning period. Older than this is doubtful they will learn much. (Someone feel free to correct me if I am wrong on that)

I didn't have a nesting box in with spikes parents and they were not fazed by it, they weren't shy at all about what they were getting up to in my dinning room. I'm not sure if they produced eggs but they were definitely mating.
