Rambo has a ring

Post by BirdM4n »

My little IRN is only 9 weeks and it already has a small ring around its neck.. is this normal? at such a young age?

Depending in the colour of the ring it can be normal, and depending on the species of Asiatic it is. For an Indian Ringneck, anything that looks like the adults ring, at 9 weeks of age, is unheard of.

Any chance you can put a pic up of any kind showing what you mean?

It is just a light ring that is lighter green then the rest of his feathers.

That is typical and does not indicate sex.

Yeah, thats quite common in greens and blues especially. Hens can and often will especially in blue series birds retain a lighter ring, esp around the back of the neck.
