Look at Sam, so beautiful even if he is a little scruffy from the molt. My guess purely from the mirror picture only, is male.

I never saw him/her doing the male dance, so I don't have any clue of what sex Sam could be.

I say male! Elliott had the same impressions of a ring that Sam has and he got his ring in at about 16 mos. So hopefully you will be seeing one soon too!
