Heya, your location would help a bit in regards to when or if its near or around breeding season for you.
Regarding the attitude where the birds are kicking the nesting material out thats a good sign and normal, if you put in too much nesting material (a good thing) then she will most likely kick some out and make the nest more appropriate for her use... so long as the eggs are not sitting on the flat surface, she is doing it right.
It generally does mean they are interested in breeding, though its not a certainty with these fellas as they sometimes do like to play or nest inside the box, so if its out of season that is probably the case, else you may find your pair starting to court.

Well it really kicks in about Augustish, before that or just after that. Australia has so many different breeding cycles (due to country size, weather circumstances etc) but its always from July through to December regardless, very few exceptions if any.
If your birds were ready to breed and you only recently gave them access to a box, and the weather is fine for it I would not be suprised if they go down... I have birds who even though have reared and had their young taken away are still ooverly flirty and 'performing'. Its that time of year so if your lucky you might have yourself some eggs sooner or later.
Let us know how it goes, generally at this time of the year I would asume not, but you just cant tell with creatures, there are no 'rules' and 'certainty' to breeding times and how / where they decide to do it sometimes lol
