Male IRNs develop a ring around 2 - 3 years of age.. or second moult usually. Some can be early and some later, but generally around 2 years maturity. Females do not have a ring but a slight discolouring may be seen, but not as striking as the males.
Telling the sex of IRNs under maturity is hard.. and you can only guess... but by the looks of Ami, she is looking boyish!
