IRN Makes Noises Overhead & Quacking?

Post by Hotflats »

Did I get your attention?

I have posted a few times now, I am pretty new here and I have a GAZILLION questions!

I adopted a 4 year old Female AFRICAN Ringneck (she told me it was indian, but she was wrong wrong..o-well)...anyway, she just came home with me last week! She came with the name Chris, but since that's MY name....I've gotta change it! I am thinking either Sassy Bird or Crow....1) cuz she's SASSY and 2) because her call sounds JUST like a crow!

She seems to be settling in some...and she is making some really cute but ODD noises!

1) if I wave my hand over the top of her cage (like a magic trick) she starts "singing" or warbling, or jibberjabbing or lovie talk or baby talk...I can't decide what it is. It is, however, VERY CUTE! It almost sounds like she might spit out a word while she's doing it (I haven't heard anything from her yet!)...she also makes the same noises if I am petting her neck or when she sees herself in a mirror AND while I am putting her cover on for night-night.

Is there a name for this? I adore it....I hope it's not a bad noise?

2) She makes this OTHER noise and it is REALLY hard to describe. I call it quacking! She does this after she has had something YUMMY like nutriberries with popcorn in it or after she is covered up for the night. It makes me think she is practice talking? Kinda sounds like a mini raspberry? Over and over?

So...WHAT is that!?

Questions questions questions....

I have more, but I will start a new topic!!!

THANKS!
CHRIS and her BIRD!

My Alex micha quacks too but I have had him since he was only 4 weeks, I have no idea where he picked it up from unless its just part of them learning to talk. he actually sounds like a duck.

Ahhhhh I wish I knew what it was!

Every time she does it, I strain my ears so hard to listen to it!!
But it just sounds like raspberries! She even moves her tongue!

Maybe it's just a contentment thing.....
