IRN Bonding, He likes my hands too much!
I have a male IRN about 15 months old. Several weeks ago he started exhibiting bonding behavior with my hands. He talks to, rubs his beak against and regurgitates on my fingers. He also displays a lot of eye pinning while doing this. The problem is that he becomes aggressive and bites me if I move my hands the wrong way (like putting my finger up to him to step up to the opposite hand). This biting did not start until after he "fell in love" with my hands/fingers. Thank you for any suggestions/help

Sounds like hes in love with your hand. hehe. If the biting is a problem, move him away from you and dont show him your hands, after a while of doing this, he might move onto something else. Otherwise I'd just ignore the biting, like it doesnt hurt.

I am glad someone else has this same situation. Smokey loves my right hand and in particular the middle 2 fingers. I have rings on them and have tried taking the rings off as I thought it was the rings he liked. It doesn't matter, he loves my fingers on this hand. He also nips a bit sometimes if I move suddenly. He has been in love with my hand for over a year now however the last 2 weeks he is obsessed with them. Any chance he gets to love them, he does. He dances to them, regurgitates on them and pins his eyes, sometimes he makes really funny sounds before during and after his "sessions"

IRN + Hand = Love
Thank you for your feed back, sorry it took so long to respond.
I have been having better luck with Frodo over the last couple of weeks and although he still loves my hands he seems to focus on my left hand more and I've been able to learn what I can and can not do without getting a nip.
I'll try to keep you updated, Bill
