If You Don't Let Your Bird Out One Day?

Post by countrygal_cc »

Hello yesterday was the first day I didn't get cupcake out. I bought cupcake May 11 since then I have got cupcake out everyday me and my husband went a shopping as soon as I came home. This evening I was a little late getting cupcake out. I got cupcake out around 7 I thought for sure I heard cupcake make a cat's meow noise my husband heard it too. I have made a cat noise to cupcake some. We have had a cat on the porch some but I didn't see the cat and the noise came from cupcake's cage it sounded just like a cat also cupcake made more little noises when I got her out does it help to skip a day getting her out will this make her pick up stuff better like if you don't let her out could she make a noise to get out could be a good form of training? :-) Misty

It won't kill her if she doesn't get out every single day. Just as long as it's infrequent. Marley didn't get out on the 4th at all or the Saturday afterwards because there were just too many people opening and closing the door and I didn't want to risk him flying out. Then when we go on vacation he'll be boarded at a place where they only take the birds out every other day.

That's cute about the cat noise! Marley made a sound that sort of sounded like "Good boy!" but was more like "gubb" but it was more human sounding than anything else. Then yesterday he started laughing. What's even more creepy- it was *my* laugh! It was weird to hear!

Thats awsome, my IRN when I was living at a friends place breifly had a stint of "talking" to the house cat with meows that were dead set imitation of the cat.

They pic up things through boredom, curiosity, some new introduction etc... they learn whatever takes their fancy and more often than not, whatever is around them the most.

My cat is terrified of my birds, so he has not had any cat influences in a long time, and has lost the call sadly, no matter how much I try to re-do it.

It doesnt hurt to keep a slightly irregular pattern... as from experiences with other people have shown that keeping a rigid pattern and suddenly breaking it can do more damage than good... at least with variations to the pattern now and then can prepare the bird for sudden lack of attention, or two day trips etc. You never know when you have a family emergency where you just have to leave your boy/girl with a cage full of food and water for 2 days.
