Hello everyone I am happy to find this site. I bought a Indian Ring-Necked Parrot yesterday. In all with the cage it cost me 375.00 and I used a credit card yes I do worry did I pay too much so I want to know is this a good bird to pay a lot for? I have had fun today my first day with cupcake a very sweet bird bright yellow. I have teached cupcake a trick already she will pick up my plastic ring when I tell her too and then I tell her drop it and she will drop it in my hand. I was tickled pink. Is there other tricks I can teach my bird if so please tell me how to do some more tricks. I saw a video of one bird waving and a pic on here of a bird laying on it's back how can you get your bird to lay on it's back. Need some trick tips anything will be great and my question is will my bird talk and how long will it take it to talk these birds seem to be a good bird and quiet when I tell my bird something I want it to learn do I just say one word. It's ok to give them fruits and vegs? My bird isnt that old just winned I know I spelled that wrong. Any good seed to give them?
Look forward to hearing from you guys. Misty

Hi countrygal_cc & welcome
I checked out your photos of your new bub and s/he is just adorable. Reminds me of my Jasper when she was younger.
Sprouted seed is also very good for birds and they love it. You will probably find over time IRNs will tend to eat anything. I have noticed when they are young they seem a little unwilling to try new tasty food but once they are a bit older, try stopping them from eating everything in sight lol.

If you got the cage along with the bird for that price, it sounds about right, at least for the east coast. These birds are awsom, and well worth the money. I think they are even better than many of the more expensive parrots that you could find. they are playful, and sweet, and a lot smarter than people give them credit for. I have 5 of them, and they are so much fun.
