Nila's getting his ring

My little Nila who is supposedly 6 months old had got black feathers all of a sudden under his beak and his ring is very noticable. It looks like there's a find line of black there. Is that possible or did they sell me a 18-24 month old bird and tell me it was 4 months old? Or so blue irn show a ring earlier because of the color? Or should I worry something is wrong. His bead is a lot lighter too. It's gotten lighter about 1/2 way down his beak. I'll try some pics but I am a notoriously bad photographer.

I wanted to mention I am also a notoriously bad typer also,

I posted the pics in the photo forum, take a look and let me know.
I noticed then when we were outside. There are actually fine black feathers there.
