Standing on one foot

Post by Pommeraniac »

My IRN has started standing on only one foot when I hold him. Is this normal behavior for these guys? Its mostly when I hold him on my finger. He tucks his right foot up into his feathers and you can't even see it. It isn't hurt because he uses it to climb all over me and his cage.

Thanks,

Yes it is very normal. He's telling you he is happy and content.

I keep waiting for this bluffing stage everyone talks about. This IRN is about 6 months old and loves me sooooo much. I just can't imagine him going through a bluffing stage. I am sure I am too confident in this and I am going to get a bite when I am not expecting it. He wants me to hold him close to my chest all the time. Occassionally I can get him to sit on my shoulder, but he usually wants to sit on my finger and hold him close to my chest. He just chatters and chatters when I hold him.

I don't want my baby to change and go through the bluffing....

Is it a definate that they will go throught that bluffing stage?

Dont worry about the buffing baby. When my boy started it hurt my feelings very badly. In fact, I came here crying. It lasts a short time and its sort of like your bird doesnt know you but it isnt tramatic as I thought it was going to be.

Baby is my best friend so this was a very sad and lonely time for me. Will be for you to but this too shall pass as if it never happened.

Promise.

It's a stage and with your help it won't last very long. You have to lay down your rules during this time and not let up...
