Getting along

Hi,

I am happy both with Birdius, my "tiel" and Magoo, my IRN, but they don't seem to like each other. Every time the get together, they both get combative (open beaks and lungeing) and I have to separate them

Should I let them settle this on their own, keep them separated, or try something else? I would really like for them to get along together if possible.

P.S. Both are young males (seven months old or less), caged separately, and both have their wings clipped.

where are you putting them together? It is important that it be neutral ground, preferable someplace neither bird has hung out in alone before. Are their cages in the same room? close proximity? How long have you had the two of them?

My tiel Mack and my irn George do this little peck each others wing thing every time they meet up. They do not actually fight I think they are establishing a “no fly zone” around each other as they do not sit very close. I have noticed that as long as they are about 2-3 inches apart they get along like best friends, the second one comes any closer they begin the pecking routine to pecking.

Don't force anything on them...let them choose the time or if they ever want to 'play' together...they are two way different species...let them decide and if they can't stand each other...don't push it

I would monitor them closely. The IRN has a much more powerful beak and could hurt the tiel if he decided to take a chunk out of him.

indie and cookie dont get along,cookie is a bit too active for indie,its like an adult with a kid but you have two kids who both wanna be boss.
