Hey guys...well I am thinking about adopting another bird. She is a blue and gold macaw named Rio. She is a serious feather plucker and her owner has tried everything she can to find the reason why. We think it might be just 'inbetween her ears'...there is nothing wrong...no diseases. She started plucking about 5 years ago when the youngest child was born...personally I think that may just pushed Rio over the edge. She was one of those sad cases...weaned too early, not given the chance to learn to fly before the breeder clipped her. Serious self confidece issues
She is on the small side...and is gorgeous even if she is completely picked on her chest. I think she can do well in my home, she can have some peace and quiet and will have Bodi and Prinny to talk to.
What do you all think? teehee...thought I'd let my fid family know first
Love
Dani
Guess what...MBS is running ramapant in me...:)

Blue and Gold Macaw is my dream bird. Used to want one badly. Now that I realize how much work they are I don't think I'll ever get one. But I think you would be PERFECT for Rio. And Rio deserves to have a happy home. Maybe moving in with you would stop the plucking. Go for it girl! If you have the room and can do it. But you might want a three bedroom apt to move into. Teehee.

hehehe...don't worry, I plan on it but first I am having Bodi and Rio meet. I want to make sure Bodi and her will at the very least get along...I'm not worried about Prin since she is going to not have much contact with Rio but Bodi is a much larger bird. I just want to make sure they can coexist.
Don't worry all you who worry about Prinny and Rio or what might happen...trust me I know what I am doing
Prin will be introduced but there won't be playtime for them together...size difference is way too much
