Your Honest, Unbiased Opinions, Pleeze!

Post by CarolinaWren »

hey again, everyone ... well, i decided that i've cried all of the tears that i can for now ... we were finally able to bury Gina at sea on sunday (had to wait 'til the tide wuz going out the wind calm) ... we said a prayer for her, kissed her & let her go to fly to heights she'd never seen.

thank you all SOOO much for being here for us ... dunno wut i would've done without you.

now, i have a question & i'd like as much input as possible. the lady who fostered my Willie-Bird has adopted out all of the birds she had except for 1 parakeet ... this 'keet wuz Willie's "right-hand bird" when they were there together ... i mean tucking under his wing & sharing food, etc. i'm tempted to go ahead & adopt the 'keet because (1) he needs a good home; (2) he & Willie are "buds"; (3) Willie's just acting like "where's the mouth?" ... "where's my company?" ... when he wuz at the foster home, he wuz there with like 7 other birds, then he came here & he had Gina ... now, he only has me & hubby & is being really quiet ... like "no competition, no talkie" ... he hasn't talked since Gina passed away, nor has he done his usual 3-times-a-day "squawk/scream-a-thon" ... anyway, i've checked into some rescue/adoption places & they seem to think that it's too soon because maybe i'll expect too much of another bird right now ... i really have no expectations, as Gina wuz one in a million & i know that i'll never find another bird with her special personality ... i mean, she followed me every step & would've been content to sit on my shoulder or finger ALL OF THE TIME ... also, these adoption places want SO much info ... it's no wonder that peeples just go to a breeder ... and that's the very thing that they say they're trying to prevent ... over-breeding.

please give me your input on this situation ... that little 'keet is all by himself & Willie's all by himself, so i don't see a real big problem, but i ain't a genius, either. DUH!

luv, Wren

That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune without the words,
And never stops at all

i really cant see what their problem is and it really makes me mad to think that someone that loves their birds so much is having such a hard time.there is people out there that say its just a bird and dont bother trying to help if they are sick or injured.dont worry we know you would love and care for that birdie.maybe you should point them to this board so they can see what you went through and that you would really look after that baby.

In my opinion... if Babys girl died (a little tiel he is so in love with) I would absolutely replace the other bird. I wouldnt push the issue... just introduce them and sit them so they can see eachother and want to hang out together.

Baby is forever begging his wife Peaches to 'Come on, be a good girl! Step up!.' I'd pay 100 dollars to know where he wants to take her. There is a thread called 'two new baby vids where he is doing it.
