getting close to 2 yrs old and i need HELP! I love my ringneck but the last year and a half have not been easy. He was fine at first being so young but as he gets older he misbehaves more and more. The screeching is unbearable, the biting has caused bleeding. I just dont know what to do. Do i just have a bird with attitude?? Does anyone have any suggestions??

hello and welcome
.has the screaming and bitting just started if so it sounds like bluffing,if he is bluffing make sure you dont back down let him know you are the boss and even if you are scared of him bitting you dont let him see that.Did you spend more time with him before he started acting up than you do now?

Hi, howdy, and hello,
Welcome to our family! I'm sorry to hear your IRN has been screeching and biting. I've got two and that is a daily occurence in my home. Esp. the screeching. I've been told I just have happy birds with a limited vocabulary. So... If you think one is unbearable, try two at the same time. WOW!
Some days I just want to leave my house. I hope that this is just a bluffing stage. I too was wondering if you possibly spent more time with him/her when they were younger than you are now. This could be the cause. He/she could just be bored and angry. Anyway, keep us posted. Feel free to post often and ask as many questions as you need to. Lots of good knowledgeable people on here. We also love pictures and videos!
Best of luck!
Jen

You have found the right place! We should be able to figure out why he is acting out and fix it.
In the meantime, as we get to know him better, use the 'search' button to see hundreds of threads reagarding your problem. Its at the top of the screen.
Keep us posted! The more we know about him the better we can help!

hi..
thank you so much for your replies!! It did only start not long ago and is just getting worse. Any toys that are in the cage he gets quite aggressive with and he has developed an obsession with my bin in the last week where he gets quite aggressive with that also. He does have little moments when he likes to play but he has no interest in learning new things and he still wont speak only whistle.
