Chief had no personality and the more I think of it and now that I have another tiel, I wonder if he may have had mental problems.
He never moved, literally. Just to food dish and back to the same spot. In fact, I didnt even have to change his shavings, only sccop because he was ALWAYS in the very same place.
Peaches, my new tiel... she is so sweet. So darn sweet. She will bite you but not like it hurts. She just doesnt want to come down off my neck so she bites. But she cuddles into the side of my neck by my ear and hides behind/under my hair for a good long cat nap.
I gave him to this old lady my husband knows, one of his clients.
She is 60ish and lives alone. Vey meek and quiet. She saw him and loved him. I was standing there watching the old woman enjoying his warmth and out of my mouth flew 'You can have that baby if you want him'
She cried, I cried. They seemed to have 'found' their person. I dont know why I said that... completely impulsive but whats meant to be, will be.
I went with her to the pet store and he was spoiled with more than 800.00 worth of food, toys cages and stands.
I made two creatures very happy that day but my heart was a little heavy. No regrets! I made Chief nervous... he loved the old ladies smell and clam demeanor.
He is no more active today but alot happier in that quiet house free of birds, noise and children. Perfect match.
awww ! Jen they are just both soooo beautiful .. your milo reminds me so much of Locco the cockatiel we had as children and into our early adult years (was mainly my older brothers bird but still a family pet) .. makes me wonder what they will be like in about 3 years or so chuckle !

It just flew out of my mouth seeing her smiling as Chief tucked into her neck and she felt his warmth.
I didnt mean to give my bird away.
But sometimes whats right seems not so right, at first. But no regrets. I still think of him often and she calls with little questions. (To have someone to talk to, more than anything)
She didnt really change his name... she calls him Chiefie though... but then again, so did Jared.
That's so sweet. She needed him and he needed her. Sounds like a great match to me. With birds sometimes you know they don't belong with you. Baby...you KNOW he is yours and you are his. Prinny, she is mine and I am hers. I knew the mintue I saw Bodi that he was mine...
That was it... and I confessed to that... Chief and I never bonded.
Not fair to him, not fair to me. Now we are all happy. Myself, Peaches, Baby, Chief and the sweet ol lady!!!
God forbid, but when she passes, he'll come back here unless situations in her life should change before. We talked about that because I was concerned about her age and his lifespan.
Yes to all that asked about Nutriberrys. The pic. Mia posted is what they are. They're just little balls of seed and fruit or veg. or chili peppers rolled in something to make them stay in a ball. And Remmi is soooooooo addicted to them! He sees them and it's like he comes to life. Too cute.
*shakes the magical tub* Yep and around here we can get them in these big buckets...Bodi loves them. Prinny kinda takes one bite and tosses the rest away expecting more
*hands remmers another berry and a pat on the head*
