Re: Billie2
I think I preferred the green, but hey ho. Sanjay didn't go indoors quite so quickly today, but he went indoors reasonably soon, he seems to be getting less fearful of my hands, that's for sure, so at least some progress is being made. That was very adroit! The way you swapped those eggs over, her eyes boggled because she couldn't remember laying that many. When we bred dogs, we soon noticed that the dam could actually count her puppies, animals never cease to amaze me.
Re: Billie2
What do you call a male goose? Answer at bottom of page.
"Why have you got more than me?"
Becasue l have a bigger beak,
And that answer satisfied Billie.
Billie has not been in her box today l think she has to be in the mood to sit on her eggs and it is Chicken tonite, or perhaps that out to be Parrot tonite as she lays every two days. Dummy Egg Inc., said that if l put in dummy eggs she will count them and decide she has laid enough and not lay any more, well we shall see tomorrow morning, keep your fingers crossed. She tried her hardest to mastubate on me and l try my hardest to stop her but l have to lock her in the cage while I play the organ as she is so persistent, but she is more docile she allowed me to clear out that dried grass l put in ther box and to refill her bucket with sunflower seeds. She has hardly touched the card board box l put maybe she has gone off them?

Fred?, is that your nom de plume?. Well, today I had to tell Sanjay off for nibbling the top edge of my curtains, but other than that, nothing special occurred. He still has that wilko traffic light thingy! He hasn't noshed all the seeds out of it just yet. Oh, I almost forgot, he asked for a tickle today for the first time in ages.

We are! Indeed!, but it made quite a nice change
Today himself did his usual thing, trying to embellish my curtains, but actually stopped for a tickle half way through. Crikey, you wouldn't think the vernal equinox is on Sunday!, cold, dismal weather, and my crocuses have refused to put in an appearance this year, still,, if it's any consolation, the clocks spring forward on Easter Sunday.

Re: Billie2
Oh no! Not summer time already? The Acadia lamp came today Billie was very interested as l assembled it but when l turned it on she dived to the bottom of the cage and started to bleat, "Take it away its horrid!" No way l told her it cost £75 and you will have to get to like it. I must admit is horrid. It takes uo too much room and to balance the lamps l had to shut one door permantly, every one will have to go through the kitchen. However Billie started to sit closer to the lamp this afternoon not brave enough to sit under it, about 6 " away. I still think it is horrid. We have Bluebells already in our park, and a host of golden daffodils, wont be many after the kids have pulled them up for Easter, l thought they would all have gone on mothering sunday!

Re: Billie2
Good God no, we had a plum tree in our garden when l was a weenie and l would sit in the branches scoffing Victioria plums there was a huge pile of plum stones under the branches until one year l became allergic to them and came out and always do in horrid spotssanjays mummi wrote:Fred?, is that your nom de plume?. Re: Billie2
We had a Damson tree once, the fruit made a lovely plum brandy. Daddi attached Sanjays lamp to the play gym on his roof terrace, I think you have done exactly the right thing, having UV light will make it harder for Billie to suss out the seasons. My bluebells are still in leaf, and my violets are still dormant, but I sowed verbena seeds in my propagator today, I love verbena flowers.
Re: Billie2
Oh dear! Billie laid an egg this afternoon, 4 days after the first one. I shall have to have a rethink, she gets a card box to chew up and a wilow stick maybe she thinks this is nest building so l shall tell her "You have eggs to sit on no more playing"
No card board or sticks from now on. I load her cage up with food perhaps she thinks this is a good time to lay eggs so l think l shall cut back on the choices. She is getting used to the lamp and sits on perch quite close. I tried taking out her nesting box but she looked so upset l put it back. I just do not know what to do, however l shall let things settle down for the next few days maybe it was in the pipe line, one thing about the UVB light it makes the LR quite hot.

Re: Billie2
Really? Sanjays UV only gets warm, it doesn't heat the room up at all. In fact, I can touch it when I've only just switched it off. Anything to encourage laying should be discontinued, nesting material especially, the vitamin D from the UV should at least lessen her risk of Osteoporosis (bone thinning), which is caused by laying. Sanjay does not appear to be having Any broody ideas, he still sits on my curtains etc, but isn't looking for deep folds etc anymore. Anyway, as I told him, lifes too short to stuff a mushroom, we have better things to do, and he clambered on to his roof terrace and started chucking his toys over the edge!, bravo!
Re: Billie2
Like a baby in a pram chucking your toys out is attention seeking, On the belief that Billie counted her egs and found one short l slipped another in her nesting box, she has been chomping on the cuttlefish bone today and she has shown no interest in the eggs which l think means she will lay again, once she starts to sit on them then the laying is over.
Then we shall have to wait until she gets bored with them at least 28 days. I cut out the cardboard box but gave her a pine cone to think about. She has been sitting closer to the lamp, l meant to check to see it was hot but it is high up and l forgot. I have never stuffed a mushroom so hae no idea what it entails.

Coo, I read you the first time ;) sounds ok to me, especially if she is liking her sun lamp. Sanjay is losing interest in the curtains, and has decided his balls and other toys have more play value, These new "smilies" are great fun aren't they?

I changed the batteries in his babble ball yesterday and he mobbed me! "s'mine!", he knows you know.
We both had an earlier night than usual, Sanjay had been uncovered earlier because I was going shopping, and I was tired From shopping. My tablet is an Asus, and it's brilliant, I don't need a laptop, plus, they are not cheap, are they?.
The wind remains quite cold here, even when the sun is shining, so I hope Emma went indoors and gave you some peace and quiet.

Re: Billie2
Eviction is a tiresome process, because it involves the courts etc, plus, they have to issue three warnings first. I'm jet lagged today, shopping takes it out of me nowadays, but I refuse to let it beat me. Sanjay is quite chuffed to have his babble ball making a noisy noise again, a visitor once thought it was him!. Billie is obviously a lot smarter than we may think!

Re: Billie2
When l lock Billie in she bangs the babble ball and tubular bell with some force to show she is upset l wont do what she wants. Those of us who have been with the HA for some time have Assured Tenancies but recently they have given only short hold tenancies and can gain an evicition without a court order. I should imagine because Emma has been a tennant with Adullam for more than ten years she would have an assured tenancy and or this reason Lylette has to give notice over a protracted period
I heard once it costs £15000 to get a court order for evicition. I only slept for two hours last night and dozed the rest of the time
I am thinking that l will allow my computer to die although l might offer assistance with a sledge hammer, MS wont support it after April next year by then there will be a whole hosts of new tablets and laptops, but I have my tablet and phone to get by with
Depriving Billie of nest making card board did not work did l tell you that a vet said to me once that l should allow Bilie to have her laying cycle, l think it is in the shed/

Re: Billie2
I take what vets say with a large pinch of salt, for instance, they tell girl dog owners spaying prevents mammary tumours, Wrong!, every girl dog we had spayed (for medical reasons) ended up with mammary tumours, the ones we left entire, did not, and that is just an example of the rubbish they come out with, I prefer the true avian experts advice. Our HA has a six month starter tenancy to facilitate quick eviction, but, as you say, once the assured tenancy kicks in, it takes longer. Sanjay gave his tubular bell a hammering today, but he sang priddy toons as well, I think he was being a one birdy band.
Re: Billie2
When I first got Billie she did a lot of screaming and unfortunately I blew a referees whistle at her this shut her up and it took a long time for her to speak again even now she does not sing but she bangs her bell loudly when she wants attention. Should be an egg tonight she has three and all the dummies in reserve. Argos sell laptops but mostly rubbishy

My old Toshiba came from there, and only lasted three years, just not worth the expense tbh, I can sit in my armchair with my phone or tablet, and tuck my tablet into my handbag, laptops I think, are fast becoming a thing of the past.
I am glad I don't have the stress of a broody hen, It would drive me nuts, but unlike you, if Sanjay did start, I wouldn't give him nesting boxes etc. if they haven't got the wherewithal then it isn't easy for them, imho.

An apology?, whatever for?. Sanjay got into a pickle today, he abseiled down the t'other side of the voile panel, betwixt glass and curtain, and somehow found himself schtuck upside down!, so I went to help and he fluttered to the floor like a little autumn leaf, then righted himself and swaggered clear of the furniture so he could launch himself again. Oy Vey!.
It's more like winter here, cold wind and drizzle, I feel sorry for those who have long term arrangements made for this weekend.

Re: Billie2
All Sanjay needs is a cutlass and pirate hat and he could take over the ship
Well the deed is done l ordered a Microsoft Surface pro4 machine form Curries they are going to deliver it on Monday, My poor old Vista crashed this morning and Curries Knowhow chap helped me get back in but only by a system restore all my folders and files were lost, l have an SD card in my camera so l will be able to download pictures of Billie but all my history on IRN.com has gone, it is fun stting up again am trying to get the printer to work.

I have a printer, but daddi never showed me how it works, I will have to read the booklet. Anyway, we had quite a day today, my daughter phoned to tell me they were on their way for a visit,, Sanjay nearly fell off his perch when Jack and Isabel came breezing in!, he didn't realise how quickly little people grow. The day was glorious, but rain is forecast for tomorrow and Monday, typical Bank Holiday weather, Sanjay managed to stay out of predicaments today. Are you sure Curry's deliver on Easter Monday?, methought everywhere except Asian shops etc would be closed.

Yes, but did the curry's person remember Monday is Easter Monday?. I intend to start writing again, it's been awhile since my last book was published, but I'm not even sure how a printer works with my tablet. Previously we had a PC the printer sat beside!. Anyway, what a horrible day today, Sanjay was ok with his personal sunshine, March is supposed to go out like a lamb!, Apparently, Jack and Isabel have talked about Sanjay non stop since yesterday, I wonder if his ears were burning?

Re: Billie2
You say again what have you written so far? I wrote a book about what l thought my childhood was all about called The Chronicles of the Sky Children, l was typing 8 foolscap pages a day it just had to come out but that was 20 years ago l could not face the idea of rejection so l never submitted to publication pity really because l wrote some sequels the first book was subtitled "Thems" and the second book was called "The Goodly." But later sequels existed more in my imagination than on paper, When my computer crashed it took all the written book l think l have some of it on disks. We shall quickly see if the Curry's person had not realized it was Easter monday l will be at the gate waiting all day. Billie laid an egg last night that makes 4 plus two dummies l think she intends laying another because she is not sitting on them and is still chomping on the cuttle fish bone, when she bathes we all do she scatters water everywhere. She was jolly wet! So was l! Which? are doing an article on online printers next month.

Oh gosh!, there have been various topics, "Self Help" as they are called, breed stuff, I have never "vanity" published tho', always sent a synopsis to publishers etc.You may be in luck tomorrow, because a lot of stores open, the bus services here will be "Sunday service", which is daft, a lot of folk will be shopping.

Goodness! That will keep you out of mischief for a while, can't say the same about Billie tho'!. Yes, we had a lovely afternoon and sunset, red sky too, which is hopeful.

Re: Billie2
Well Billie is not sitting on her eggs which is a bad sign maybe more are coming, so far she has 4 plus two dummy eggs
went shopping and bought some cherries gave her one she ripped ll the flesh off and started to bite the stone but gave up
I am struggling with Windows 10 bought a Dummy's Book second hand from Amazon might have to buy one on lap tops as l have no idea. Quite cold here but sunny.

Re: Billie2
It's been quite a day, I came home from shopping to water dripping through my bedroom ceiling And trickling down one wall. I rushed upstairs and banged on the door, nobody in, so I rang the HA who tried to get the tenant on his mobile, they couldn't plus he has No voicemail service, about an hour later his flatmate turned up, and being Croatian too, I had to show him what was happening, a few seconds later he was knocking on my door, "come! I shoe you!" He said, when I walked into his kitchen, it was easily four to six inches of water, which was tipping out of their boiler, I told him to switch it off, because the pump wasn't helping. We couldn't find the stop cock (mine is in my wet room). I phoned ths HA gas repair number, they booked it as an emergency, which is a laugh, because it took 3 hours for someone to come out. Meanwhile "Fester" (he looks like uncle fester,) was mopping like crazy, so I took my carpet shampooer up, and it sucked the water up nicely. My bed was wet, so I've had to sort that Plus make a tiny hole in the ceiling bulge and drain the water away. I don't know the outcome, but the repair Guy was only there half an hour, methinks he found the stop cock and "condemned" the boiler until spares are supplied or a new boiler fitted. Sanjay was quite put out because his mummi kept disappearing!,
Re: Billie2
That happened to me once they had to drill my upstairs neighbours lock out because he did not leave a spare key with them he had left the tap running and has over flow was blocked fortunately there was no lasting damaged to my ceiling. Billie laid another egg now she has 5 and two dummies she has been banging around with them all S day. I warned her if she lays another it will be curtains but not the crem type but I will move the cage. Hope you get the damage fixed soon. Poor Sanjay!

Re: Billie2
Thankfully the ceiling held up, but looks like a world atlas with all the stains, I phoned my home contents insurer, and they will cover redecoration costs, it will need an oil based undercoat with emulsion on top, to stop the stains coming through, when I saw Fester earlier, he said it was something small like a valve which caused the leak, but it's been sorted. I e mailed the HA, asking why they don't lay heat sealed lino, in upper storey kitchens and bathrooms, they said they are passing my suggestion on to the management team. So, now I must take photos of the stains, while I wait for a claim form.
Silly Billie, banging her eggs around!, if they contained embryo's it would give them a headache!. Sanjay got a ticking off today, he climbed down the bars reached down and started shredding his newspaper and chucking it around!

Re: Billie2
Did he look chastened? Billie tells me off when lunch is late she rings her bell furiously. She scrapes the margerine off the corner of toast l give her she adores fat free yogurt. She has been chomping more cuttle fish bone today but l warned her lay again and you will go into the other corner, she hates it there as she cannot see out of the window, but she might be slowing down on the egg laying once she starts to sit on the eggs there will be no more so her sudden interest in them is a good sign. Chilly tonight but it was quite warm whwn l went for a walk.

To my absolute delight, there were bumble bees and ladybirds in my garden today, and tulips ready to open, so it must have been milder. Sanjay always stops something if I say No Naughty!, but never looks chastened or embarrassed. When we trained dogs, if they disobeyed a "command" we would ignore them, and they would start feeling a bit daft and wrong pawed, then they would do what we had asked. Sanjay rings for service too!

In the words of Sanjay, "ooh I say!", now that could definitely be good news for you. I wish the idiots upstairs would move, it's not the first time they've ignored leaks and my flat has suffered. It's a glorious day here, it would have been my Golden Wedding anniversary, we got married in Cumbria on 48 hour passes, and it snowed!.
The bluebells are flowering now, and there are white and pink ones, probably harebells, they smell lovely. After I've sorted Sanjay out, I might walk to the park and visit my late husbands memorial tree. Sanjay is demolishing millet and seed bars on a daily basis, must have hollow legs!

Re: Billie2
Billie only gets millet on Tuesdays and Sundays when I go out, Sanjay will get fat have you weighed him recently this panel is so small l can hardly see it but it is fun to type on the Pro 4 in my living room the hub is in my bedroom. The police came to day first to Emma and l rushed round to my kitchen which over looks her front door and ear wigging I heard her say "he has stopped now" evidently she complained about my organ play. What a cheek! But l have reduced the volume and will use head phones form now, unless she starts to be noisy again, The police officer said Emma had said she was laving next month. Pigs will fly first.

Re: Billie2
Years ago I had a thoroughly nasty, obnoxious alcoholic neighbour, who liked nothing better than to bang on my flat door shouting profane abuse. Everytime she did it, I phoned the Police, they should have charged her, but would simply get her to go somewhere else for the rest of the day or night. One Sunday morning I was changing the bed when she started, she told the police I had gone into her flat and unplugged her radio, Of course I hadn't been anywhere near her flat!, she was drinking vodka for breakfast. When I asked the police why she never got nicked for Breach of the peace, they didn't even Know what Breach of the peace means!, I had to explain it to them.
Re: Billie2
My very best friend Anthony lived next door and he started to drink Vodka and water l kept chiding him to stop but he could not or would not he was caught so often drink driving l offered to drive him, and drove 28,000 miles in one year, he was a showman from gypsy stock his sister lived in a mobile home at Redditch. Towards the end of our friendship he was drinking 2 litres of Vodka a day. He had a fixation with burning l put it down to his childhood he was adopted at 6 months by Kate his sister who was then 23 she had jilted her groom by walking out of the marriage ceremony. The family lived in a large caravan at Bidford upon Avon Kate had two older brothers and because space was limited Ant had to sleep in Kate's bed until he was 10. His mother (really grandmother) died when he was 14 and his father (grandfather) died 4 years later, His oldest brother died 6 years after that and his next brother died 10 years later. The family had two other children a son who died when was 23 in 1918 and a daughter who died when she was 14 in 1923 they are buried at Coventry. Ant's mum and dad are buried at Bidford upon Avon. Ant was arrested and kept on remand in the "Green" Winson Green prison and l visited him there until he died of a heart attack, 8 years ago, He was a most generous man and we would walk into charity shops arm in arm, he called me his "Sugar Daddy" and l called his "Mother!" But he was only six years younger than me. His ashes were spread over the parents grave and Kate joined him 6 months later when her ashes were spread over her parents grave. Ant told me he had spent £300,000 in less than ten years l asked him where did he get the money and he look me in eye and said "Stole it!"

There is a legend that when Christ was crucified a passing gypsy stole one of the nails meant for one of Christs feet, and as a reward gypsies were allowed complete amnesty one day a year to steal, and not get caught. I don't know what day, tho'.
My ex alcoholic neighbour was evicted, and I found out later she had died too, she was 57. I didn't go out after all, because it went grey outside and I thought it was going to rain. We are supposed to be getting some really warm weather, about time too!

Re: Billie2
What a nice story, Weighed Billie today she was an absolute darling sat on my shoulder as l got the scales and l leant down and she hopped onto the table and l switched the scales on I tried to shoo her onto the scales but in the end l picked her up with out gloves she tried to tell me that was not on with a nip but l put her on the scaled and she sat still until they had settled down 254 grams, she was 278 on 13 Feb but has laid six eggs since then. So now she is a little under weight.

I liked your reply on "Bluffing", we are both experienced folk then?, me in Boarding/ Breeding Kennel management,, and quali's in Judging etc, not birds, but it helps in understanding All types and species of animal. We had a quiet day, I caught up on some of those unpopular jobs, oven cleaning etc, and Sanjay kept up a running commentary of calls and silly noises, he has an entire repertoire, even the noise a balloon makes when you let the air escape and squeeze the neck, thanks to daddi, who thought it a great game to play with Sanjay, it's very popular with Jack and Isabel, they call them "Sanjays farty noises".
Isn't it lovely to have the lighter mornings and evenings?

Re: Billie2
Billie starts yelling to be covered at 3 pm and l make her last out to 4 when l give in and then she moans the tv is too loud of the sun is creeping under her cover. She has six of her own eggs and two dummies so l took the two dumnmies out and she sat in front of her box with her beak on the floor wailing, so l put the two dummies back she cheered up after that. She is not sitting on them which probably means she will lay again but seven is the limit. Drastic action will have to be take with cage moving and perches taken out. The trouble with some people is they think they have the only way to look after IRN and Alex, where as our birds are so flexible they go along with who ever is looking after them, It makes you wonder who is the more inteligent. Billie tut tutters, l have not heard her fart, l did the other day and she surprised me by wrinkling her nose with the smell. The cheshnut trees in our park are in leaf, spring is just round the corner. I have a chiming clock that hangs about on the wall but it is only recently that l put batteries into the chime and now it sounds off until 11 pm and starts at 6 am. I asked Billie if the chime was annoying her and she replied "What chime?"

Re: Billie2
I have a beautiful Egyptian "cuckoo" type clock, little Egyptian figures, Anubis, Horus etc go around in a circle while the clock plays an Egyptian style priddy toon on the hour, I'm surprised himself hasn't started mimicking it. I love the way puppies look for their farts!, or bark, then look surprised.
I think sometimes, maybe I should do more with Sanjay, but quite frankly, he already loves me to bits, why risk spoiling it?

Re: Billie2
Yesterday I am sure I counted six eggs plus two dummies today there are 7 eggs plus the two dummies. She has never laid in the box before. I found a long extension lead so all is ready. to move the cage if she lays any more. The Willows are in full leaf. Let Sanjay be Sanjay, perhaps he is hoping to do more with you! Billie climbs down the outside of cage and waits for me to off her my hand so she can have a cuddle. Did not The Queen have a Anubus Horus after Windsor castle burnt down?

Re: Billie2
No, that was an Annis Horribilis, (scuse the spelling), I posted the insurance claim form and photo's this morning, so fingers crossed,
I often make overtures to himself, but he just gives me the lazy eye, but if I've been out, and say "hi hunny I'm home!" He gets all excited, pins, and his head feathers rise, but it's more cupboard love methinks, because when I'm unpacking the groceries he is There! Waiting to see what I've bought him. So, if Billie hasn't laid in the box before, where did she lay?, I had a female Samoyed who wouldn't use the whelping box, she would pick the first pup up (whelped outside!) and carry it to her indoor cage, then have the rest, we worried she would overlay them, but she never did, Samoyeds whelp standing up, unlike other breeds. Probably because of the permafrost in their native land. Well, Sanjay has gone through another seed bar, but I don't worry about his weight, he flies around in his cage and around the LR.
