for my ringneck and lorikeet, they were free. someone i got linked to wanted to find a home for them with someone with exerpience. the budgies we bought for 19 each as Sea World in Salem NH.
When we moved from florida about 15 years ago, we couldn't take our birds then. We had two cockatields, one we rescured in the heat at fleamarket so plucked all he has was in spike. and another pretty girl would was very friendly, a fischers love bird that would go anywhere with you amd twp budgies again. A good friend of mine who gave me the lovebird, took them and found forever homes for them.

i have 18 birds (4 irns, 1 shamrock macaw, 6 finches, 2african red bellies,
2fischers lovebirds, 1 rosie bourke, 1 regular bourke/split to cream, 1 tiel)
i also am hopefully getting a female solomon island eclectus
but want to reduce it to 3 pets and one pair of irn breeders. until i move then i will start building up a huge collection. my ultamate dream bird is a hyacinth macaw they are my favorite species in the world my eclectus is the second. but as far as an individual bird, bubba my shamrock is the coolest and hes not a bird to me hes right up there with family. i also want to collect a pair of each of the common species of macaw:)
i paid every where from $0 to $700 for a bird but the most i paid for any of the birds i have right now is i traded my cousin a pug (which i paid $360) for bubba.

lol and i thought 25 reptiles were bad!
they just need food and water and weekly-monthly cleaning.....they couldn't care less if you paid attention to them! (of coarse i do though) i don't know if I could handle that many! that's really cool though that you all have so many. I'm about to get my IRN and someday I want a senegal and my FAVORITE is hawk-head parrots

I think we have 12 of our own between all members of the family.
Erm... I grew up with a blue and gold, so they started getting me when I was just wee.
Pretty much full. Theres a couple birds I wouldn't kick out of bed, but it'd take a very special bird in order for us to mess up the wonderful flock dynamic we have right now.
Hrm, other birds I want. I'd love to have a plumhead, a mustache, a hyacinth, my husband wants a scarlet... of course I doubt I'll get any of them simply due to space.
LOL, sure I'll answer how much I paid. Lets see, they run me around 200 a month for food, 300 or so for toys, never a month without at least 100 in vet costs... they are very expensive birds. As to actual cost of purchasing them, theres a wide range from birds who were given to me to the ones I purchased as babies.
