The last couple days Byndi has been pretty social... for Byndi! So I've been putting a finger thru the bars of his cage. He's been taking it in his beak and not biting........hard. Altho' a couple times he got me good. But it didn't start out vicious! So last night and this morning he was acting the same. Last night he'd let me put my finger near him and he'd be making this low chirp and putting his head up like he wanted me to rub under his beak and his eyes were pinning BIG TIME and he was bowing his wings out. He'd let me scritch him just a tiny bit under his beak and then go for my finger. I was so excited! I actually got to touch him! Any clue what tilting the head and bowing his wings could've meant?? He was also giving me kisses thru the bars this morning. And when he'd go for my finger it wasn't like it used to be. Like he was going to rip it off my body. Now he could just be screwing with me, and with Byndi I wouldn't put it past him. He could be thinking, watch this ding dong, I'll take her finger ever so gently and she won't freak and then I'll bite the living you know what out of her. Any ideas??

Poor Byndi... like me at one point doesnt know how to love or accept love. If he is putting his head up AWESOME! If they bow that head, watch out... youre gonna get it if you persist lol.

I am so proud of you Jen. So proud of Byndi. He has a special place in my heart because I use to know nothing about love myself. I didnt know how to give it and I certainly didnt know how to receive it (except for children, I suppose because there is no threat of being hurt with kids).

For some reason, noone has ever given up on me because of that. Just as Jen didnt give up on Byndi for a new, cute baby. That speaks volumes. Just understand Jen, he may desperately want to love and to be loved but doesnt know how to give/accept.

If a human can lack those social skills, Byndi certainly can. Tell that lil bugger you love him, will always love him and its ok if he takes a liking to you too... it'll be ya'll secret.

i watched dr harry (tv vet) they said if you say scratch before you do it then the birds will know what you are about to do. it worked for us except now indie says scratch scratch to us when he wants a scratch.i think its like step up where they remember what to do.

Even Baby flinches if I move too fast. Wish she didnt. After a yr she should know I would neeeeever hurt her.

Im nervous (and naughty hehe) by nature so I can relate to her but I wish she knew my movements were safe. Bothers me to make her flinch.

Jen I reckon he is like my kai and he is making steady but slow progress. He has worked out you are not a threat and not going to hurt him and is starting to feel like your all a part of the same flock and wants to interact and mingle more now. Letting the less tame birds come at their own pace seems to be the way to go. But always be ready for anything.

Oh Jen I am so happy for you guys! You are finally breaking through Byndi's shell a little each time. He is slowly coming around and hopefully soon enough you'll be able to really touch him. Great work! Keep it up and keep us posted...I for one can't get enough of your Byndi or Remmi...
