missing tail?

Post by Little_Bailey »

Hey, the other day bailey had like just 2 or 3 tail feathers, and i noticed a few trying to grow! when i got home yesterday, to my suprise there was no long ones and like 5 or 6 really short ones... (looks like his tail got chopped off) and my boyfriend said he saw bailey chewing them, looking like he had pulled them out? is this anything to worry about? or is he just growing news feathers? thanks jemma

Hey Jemma,
I'm a far cry from an expert, but my Remmi is going through the EXACT same thing. He's finishing up a huge moult and he lost every one of his tail feathers. We call him duck butt. But the new ones are coming in. So I don't think you have anything to worry about. But I could be wrong.

Hugs,
Jen

Chooky regularly moults his tail feathers and leaves a trail all over the house. We (well, really just me) collect them and i have begun sticking them over my mirror. When my tail feather mirror is complete, i will post a pic.
