Hi I was told that my IRN was 4 months old when I got him but his ring is already in and very dark.
We have had him for a while and he should be about a year old.
A friend told me he looks closer to 3 years old, when do there rings come in and how do you tell how old they are?

Any chance you can post a pic? If the ring you see is like a defined shaddow its a female or juvinile ring, if it is individual black, red and blue feathers (provided we are talking about a green IRN) then he must be around 18 months and is male...
Chances are you have a 1 year old baby with a grey shaddow ring which will moult out to give you an answer in the next year or so
