Am I pathetic or are we all??

Post by jen5239 »

Just wanted to know if I'm this bad or are we all? I spent in a matter of 2 days, $130 on bird toys and perches for my babies!!! Mind you I live in a stupid, small city with NOTHING much for birds so I've had to order them online. Thanks Athena for the Grey Parrot (not sure if that's exactly what it's called) web site. I had A LOT of fun on that site. And then I shop a lot at birdstheword.com. They have a lot of great stuff at what I think is reasonable pricing. So am I pathetic??? Haven't told John that I've done this.............yet.  He really won't care, but I know if he spent $130 on gun stuff I'd be a little miffed. Tee hee. Such a double standard I practice. But I loves him and my babies. So...

LOL, glad to see the shopping bug has bitten you!

Grey Feather has some wonderful toys, and the owner is a wonderful lady (ok, and her husband LOL).

I bet you get a neat little gift in your box too, she never fails to send something sweet!

It was my birthday last Monday and my hubby gave me money to buy clothes with explicit instructions that it is to be spent on me - not kids - not birds - just me. Well I haven't bought anything for myself yet however I did spend $70 on bird toys (haven't told hubby yet just hoping he doesn't notice!!!!! ). Will get around to buy clothes but its more fun watching my baby play and investigate his new toys. Yes I think I am pathetic also. LOL but what joy I get, it's priceless

I havent found a store like that here in aus. It costs way too much to import from america. Got a few toys, but nowhere near the range you have in the US

I have searched high and low for a rehab facility for this disease, none avaliable. "Birds cant be a true addiction", they say. HA! I beg to differ.

My Baby was with me at dinner last night in a very nice restaurant. Whole family pissed/embarrassed but I couldnt leave her. Sometimes I just cant.

She clings to the cage and watches me walk out the door. Its awful! At least when I drop my Baby boy (human) off at school he runs along and plays. She stares as if to say 'Mommie, I'll be good.... pleeease'

She wins, on my finger, in the car, family bitching, me and my Baby having a blast! hehe

Hey we need to open our own shops selling it, i'd make a fortune from myself. I've recently found a gr8 place in essex that sells everything at gr8 prices. Im goin on tuesday. Am excited about it. So no hun, u aint the only one who spends rediculas ammounts of money on birds, and then walks around in rags .lol  Its the same with the dog and the kids. When we all go out i must look like the servant haha. Just cant help myself. natalie

I am getting an CAG in June or July, right now he/she is only 3 weeks old. Anyway, I was cage shopping online and I found several I liked for around $300, but then I went to www.getbirdstuff.com and found a stainless steel cage for $600 with FREE shipping, which was a deal compared to the exact same cage on other sites. The same cage (maker and model #) on another site was about $300 more with shipping! Well I told myself I would be saving money in the long run if I buy something that is going to last like stainless steel. I am going to have to go back to this site though, because they had alot of great toys and good prices as well.

Well for only haveing one little fid, I really have spent a lot of money. But they are so worth it. And the way I think is, They are so dependant on us for there care and happiness and if I were my bird, I would want to belong to someone that would love and spoil me. All our family and friends say ( when they die, they want to come back as one of my pets.) LOL  All of my shirts have little Luna holes in the shoulders. LOL  And for toys, Some toys for human babies are less expensive and safe for your fids. y ou know how lots of times our human kids play with the box the toy came in...So does Luna

LOL!

You're not alone!

It's hard for me to get out of the parrot store without spending at least $50.

Ok so the shop in essex was too good

Post by natalie »

So good infact that i still managed to spend £40, and the stuff was half the price of the usual petshop. I went a bit mad. But i left the new toys by the side of marleys cage and he was trying to get to them, so ive put them straight in, i mean i was quite willing to wait and let him get used to them but 'oh no'marley has to be different, he isnt at all afraid of any new toys, infact he was like a kid in a toy shop. So im happy and he's happy, i'll ask the bank manager how he is tomorow!!!! natalie xxxxx

I went shopping for bird toys, spent quiiite a bit. But Now their cages look purdy. Things dont tend to last very long with those beaks, I made some more toys too, I have a bucket-o-beads that froggy loves to play in. He's not scared of new things like most birds are

Ok well I almost went shopping without going in the pet shop, but I just couldn't resist having just one look. I only came out with a small soft rope toy and a new bowl for the vegies, lol, (I justify that because my baby loves vegies and fruit so much I had his servings over 2 bowls, now they are in one bigger one :D ). I did buy a jacket and a skirt for myself though. Made a big deal about showing hubby the clothes and just snuck the toy and bowl in the cage without a word!!!

I would never give Chook a bucket of beads - silly bird would probably choke to death on them!!! Instead, he sits in my basket of pegs and throws them at me when i am hanging the washing on the line - especially if i am trying to put the pegs into the basket. He also tries to nip me because his plan is get them all out of the basket, then when its empty, pick them up and put them back in.
