how to get mutations

Re: how to get mutations
Hi,
To get a new mutation you need to aquire it first.
Lacewing (Pallid) for example: get a lacewing male and pair to any color and it will give you all hens in lacewing etc
green and turquoise lacewings are really nice birds and add violet to top it off.

Re: how to get mutations
Mutations happen spontaneously. You can not purposely create them.
I see posts stating Lacewing is now called Pallid. The term Lacewing was introduced in Budgerigars and it was given to a Cinnamon-Ino crossover, same as in Ringnecks and it isnt a primary mutation. Some generalize as it was given to a primary mutation called Pallid. A Cinnamon-Ino crossover should never be called Pallid and vise versa. But Lacewing is a cinnamon-ino, mixture or 2 different (primary) mutations and sporadically can produce ino or cinnamon offspring.
Both look very similar but are not the same. Lacewing(cinnamon-ino) has brownish flight feathers, Pallid greyish. The difference between yellow head and light green body pronounces better in Lacewings after reaching adulthood. In general Lacewings' body looks a lot brighter than pallids and probably should have reddish eyes?, a lot closer to yellow. Lets not generalize and say that old Lacewing is new Pallid.
I welcome additional input from other more involved breeders.
