Lol, I mostly know genetics in budgies, as they were my first birds that I bred, then came cockatiels and then finches. But now that I think about it, I still never really bred forcolour I just bred for the sake of breeding. Also I guess being oblivious to genetics, it makes seeing what colour the babbabies end up is always exciting. I want to learn to Pick the right parents for the right colour babies, but I like the surprise really. If I purposefully breed for a colour, I know what I am going to get, which then ruins the surprise. Does that make sense?
It does make sense...but when you start breeding some of the more complex mutations there is no guarantees to outcomes at all. So you still get those surprises in the nest
I am owned by my birds...and I wouldn't have it any other way
