Hi,

dilute is a recessiv mutation. So to get the same offspring the female should at least be split for dilute.

I now that is a rec. mutation, i have a adult male,and I can give example
Dilute x green rec.pied----> 100% green / dilute / pied
I think that it will not be too big a problem buy a young dilute /pied or pied/dilute

KJ, I have not seen combinations with dilute that are impressive. Dilute removes too much colour in my opinion, but maybe some others will differ from me. As for dilute x pied, you'll get 100% normal looking birds, splitting for both mutations. You will not breed pied / dilute and dilute / pied, but rather normal / dilute / pied. Combining two recessive mutations will take 6 years, unless you try your luck by pairing brother and sister together from the /dilute/pieds and get very lucky in the first nest.

Hi, Johan,
I can buy turquoise blue dilute male. What do you think about the combination of this mutation with Opaline

KJ, Tienie Carr has a photo of such a combination. It looks very much like dilute.
