My Peanut will be one years old at the end of September (this month), can't believe how time has flown had some troubles but we have worked them out, S/he is very tame but dose not like us to hold him around the wings or dose not like to be touched on head or back (wings) but we are trying to train it out of Peanut, so far I can touch very lightly on the head for a treat and only when s/he ready.
I would love another ringneck but every one tell me that there will be problem,
1. I have only one big cage and no more space for a second cage
2. Peanut might stop talking and don't want that because it so cute, scream pick a boo for us to come fetch him
3. and I was told because Peanut is nearly a year he might try and kill the second bird, and I don't want that to happen. They say I should have gotten two at the same time
But not upset I have Peanut, I would like to know by others if they have problem with a second bird? meaning did they fight
Should I get a second bird?

Re: Should I get a second bird?
Hi Barbara
We had a female bird first (Janey) and then got a male bird (Charlie) just after we'd had Janey for just more than a year. We had them in separate cages first and in separate rooms and gradually got them closer and then gradually introduced them to each other. You should be able to find some threads on that in the forum if you do a search. The things you described can happen but won't necessarily happen.
Ellie.

I don't think another bird would be bad, I think I would be sure and introduce them slowly and watch closely.
Just takin a break !
