A good friend has had a new arrival of 4 ringnecks they're mother has been attacked by the cock and the babies need caring for what does he need to bring them inside and hand raise them ie incubator or brooder, what can he feed them any help is greatly appreciated as its the first time for baby's let alone hand raising

The best advice I can give you is to find a local breeder if you can and explain the situation and see if he/she can show you what to do. It's so much better than trying to describe it in a forum. In the meantime get some hand rearing formula and a syringe and a heating pad with blankets and a box with shavings. Keep the chicks warm and their crops full. Mix the formula as described and for the the time being see if you can watch an instructional video on feeding, avoiding the lungs, and knowing when the crop is full. But please I suggest you contact someone with experience to help you. It is so easy for something to go wrong. Good luck.

Ok thank you, what about water do I put a small bowl of water in there or not? If not how do they get their water? Also and guides on feeding I have seen someone saying you have to feed them to one side of the throat or you can choke them can anyone help here? I've tried 3 vets and none are open nor have after hours number please help

No water!!! They get all they need from the formula. Feed from the left only. And forget the vet...find a breeder of any kind of bird. If you're nervous about using the syringe, use a small baby spoon and let the bird eat the formula off the tip of the spoon.

The nearest breeder I can find is 3 hours away, I contact one in the same town as he is via Facebook but I'm had no response. When you say feed from the left only is that their left or mine

Do they need heat lights? And how many weeks old would you start introducing solid foods such as fruit and veg and do you start them on a normal parrot mix or is there something else? Thank you in advance

Sky has given some excellent advice- keep them warm (in a brooder if you can) or a warm container away from draughts.
