The fruit I get is for birds so it does not have all the sugar in it like the stuff you would get in the grocery store.

Let me rephrase - it isn't dried with all the sugar like so many of the dried fruit in the grocery stores.

I have seen the kitchen sink recipe and it does look like a lot, so if I do something close to that I will just make it in smaller quantities - that way if they don't like it then I won't have wasted so much. Mine will try just about anything and they like the plastic wiffle balls also. One of my girls will get mad at something and go down and throw her ball around the cage and then stomp after it. They are all sooooo beautiful. What are the temperaments of the plumheads like? My plumheads are very shy little guys. They kind of hang out and will chatter when the others bother them. Mine don't play with a whole lot of toys, but they do have favorites. They will eat anything or at least try it....

Just in case she comes back. The coloring is normal. A lot of ringnecks will get that coloring to some extent on their beaks. I am not sure if it is from rubbing on concrete perches or just rubbing in general, but mine aslo have some of that on theirs and I have seen many others that also get it.
