Thank you! I am quite proud of my babies. And I agree the Plumheads are wonderful! i could have a house full of more type of Psittacula, but well I think I have planty now. Unless of course I can find a Malabar - I LOVE those.
I have 8 IRNs, 1 African, 2 Plumheads, 1 Derbyan, 1 Hahns, 1 Parrotlet and 15 Tiels.
Tiels and Ringnecks are my hearts. I couldn't dream of not having at least one of each.

how expensive are the Derbyan/aka mustache parakeets? How different from IRNS are they? I've never seen birds like that, seriously I didn't even know they existed!

The Derbyan is actuallty a different species from the Moustache. They do get confused a lot, but the Derbyan is a lot bigger - about the size of a Timneh grey - maybe a little smaller. The Moustache is the size of a quaker. Honestly I am not sure of the exact cost on the market for the Derbyan, as I got mine from a breeder friend of mine, so I am not paying the price they would go for on the market. Taking a guess I would say probably about $600. He is actually very similar in personality to an Alexandrine - not a touchy feely bird but likes to hang out with you. He means business when he chews so I have to get him the macaw size toys with wood or it will be gone in a matter of hours. He can also crack some of the large nuts like almonds and walnuts. The voice is very loud - reminds me of one of those mini air horns they use at games - VERY LOUD!!!!

My plumheads are very shy little guys. They kind of hang out and will chatter when the others bother them. Mine don't play with a whole lot of toys, but they do have favorites. They will eat anything or at least try it.
They are similar to IRN personality and at the same time completely different.
I absolutely love them!

Mikaela wrote:*If* I ever get another ringneck... it'll be a grey.
The grey was a dream of mine also and I happened to luck out and met a local breeder of Ringnecks that is also a friend of mine. She has grey babies about every other year. Mine was the only grey baby that year and then I lucked out and got a boy. He is one hundred percent attitude and can be quick to use his beak, but all I have to do is look at that cute mischevious face and I have to pick him up and kiss on him. He doesn't appreciate it though. He is definitely an alpha male and even when he was still being fed, he would try and bully all the others around. It kind of backfired when he got older and wanted to make friends - they would see him coming and beat a retreat away from him.

i also have a lot
a shamrock macaw, dozen zebra finches of different colors, 2 african red bellies, a tiel, 5 irns, 2 fischers lovebirds, and a rosie bourke parakeet
OMG a Pied Plumhead How on earth did you get one of those? Are they rare in America? I have seen a few photos before but never really seen one like this before.
I love your Derbyan, i always wanted to breed Derbyans but because of their size and destructive nature, i decided not to.
I am a realy sucker for Hahns Macaws. They are great birds and have such amazing personalites.
I loved all the pics, look forward to the next installment
Thanks everybody! The hahns is about the size of a quaker maybe a little bigger.
The pied plumhead was just a fluke. A lady was selling him and I bought him since I really liked the one I had - turned out to be one of the babies from my breeder friend. We really did not know hea was a pied until he got older and started molting out more - then we realized what he was. So needless to say I got him for the price of a normal Plummie. Where I live - I do not see many pieds, then again I don't see many plumheads so I don't know how many there are out there.
