Re: Eye color question
At the youngest this bird is at least close to a year old and could be close to 2 years old. I was told about a yr and the band has a 12 on it. I'll research to see at what age they change but I've had younger and I'm sure their eyes had already changed, maybe I'm just remembering wrong. :). Interes...

Eye color question
Hi, I've been a member for a while but have been without an IRN so have not been active. Well, I brought home a grey I was told is about 1 year old, his/her band has a 12 on it so I'm sure s/he hatched last year. The reason I'm writing is because this bird has dark eyes. I looked closely and it seem...

Congo African Grey He was in my bedroom on the play stand and I had gone into the kitchen. I heard him fly and "crash land" and went to go check on him. He apparently hit the screen and it fell out. I'm in a second floor apartment and I looked down and saw him on the ground. I ran out, dow...

Re: The window?
The main thing about being in front of a window is the bird needs to be able to get out of the sun at all times. If they can't get out of the sun they could overheat.

It's an identification band. It should have the hatch year, breeder/aviary initials, and maybe #'s or letters that would tell the breeder what baby the bird is, i.e. who the parents are etc.

I'm pretty sure it's a baby thing and they outgrow it. I hand fed my creamino and I think she did this but no longer does. Hoe old is your bird?

Hi georgina.chelsea, :O) I work odd hrs, some days I’m gone from around 11am to around 10pm and I have birds. It works out just fine. I have 8 right now but I'm getting 2 more. If I'm lucky I'll be able to double up on a couple of cages; if the birds decide they like each other. They range from completely "wild" hands off (canary) to very tame hands on (CAG). But not all can be out at the same time so it can be a challen...

There's nothing wrong with believing height equals dominance. I don't like birds on my head and will not allow them there. But I do let them on my shoulder, as long as they behave, and they have play top cages so when up there they are "taller" than I am.
