Opinions on Ledge

I put in a flat perch for Rascal. I also put a fuzzy birdie buddy (that's what it's called") for him to sleep on, it's just a fuzzy carpet. I thought it would be really cute to see if he sleeps on it. I just though I would post and see some opinions on it. Actually I just took the birdie buddy out b...

Busted!

I was at the computer and Rascal "thought" I was not looking at him. I always keep a close eye on him when he is out. If he thinks Im not looking he goes wild. He pretends to be quiet and sneaky. He goes everywhere. On my bed, couch, tables, desk, you name it he goes there. "What trouble can we get ...

Thanks everyone! Im glad you guys like pictures. Mikaela - did you build baby's stand or buy it? I can't wait until he's done his molt. I worry too about the same things, LOL. Do you have pic of Baby molting? Rascal is looking pretty rough today, poor guy! It's scary at first when they start to molt...

Question: Out of Cage

How often is your IRN out? Im just wondering how much time everyone spends with their IRN and how often your IRN is out of his/her cage? Is it bad to have your IRN out all the time when your home? Of course the cage door is open so they can have access to their food/water, have a rest if they want. ...

Here is a picture of mine. http://img238.imageshack.us/img238/7730/7lk9.jpg I would go with a big one. IRN's are very active and playful. The more perches, ladders, toys attached, ect the better. It keps there minds busy because they are so smart. I also have mini perches all over my house. They are...

Hand Taming

What is the best way to hand tame? I've had Rascal for a little less then a month but he is still scared of fingers/hands. He is not shy or timid at all and is not afraid of me but he will not go on my hand. I use the words, "Step Up." The little bugger repeats, "Step Up" to me. LOL At least he is l...

Leno will venture out when he feels secure. Soon he will realize he is safe outside and inside the cage and will be begging to come out. You can try to offer him treats outside the cage. Leave the treats out so he can see them, maybe close by the cage. Some birds take longer then others to adjust. I...

Rascal

Rascal is looking a bit scruffy because he is molting. This is Rascals play station we built for him. He loves it. It only cost $30 to make! http://img238.imageshack.us/img238/7730/7lk9.jpg He thinks he is the king! He sits there and screeches as loud as he can. http://img53.imageshack.us/img53/5838...

Sneezing

I have a question. Is it true that the only time you need to worry about a bird/parrot sneezing is if there is a discharge from the nares? If there is no doscharge don't worry, right? I had a chinchilla die from a cold and another that was on antibiotics for a month to try Chinchillas and Birds resp...

Hello

Hello! Im new here. I just got my ringneck on July 20th. His name is Rascal and he is 17 months old. Rascal is awesome, I love this bird so much it's incredible. I didn't think it was possible to love a bird so much. I taught him to take and he already says a few words. Rascal is always out with me....
