What is this disease? (most likely from a bird)?

My great great grandfather lost a lung... passed away. He had a pet bird,
I don't know what type, and they say that is what did it. What is it called, and how do you think he got it?

Psittacosis possibly?
Passed from Bird to human through inhaling the bacteria from bird droppings, also from kissing your bird.
