Nest box dimension

Post by Cyclone.f5 »

Hi :) ,

I have a pair of lutino IRN's and i planned to breed them.I was wondering what dimension of nest box should i use.I made a nest box with the dimension of (12"W,12"L,12"H),is this appropriate or should i use (12"W,12"L,18"H) nest box.Btw,what should be the diameter of the enterance hole. Thanks in advance.

Hi There
The nest boxes that i use for breeding my ringnecks in is 300mm wide by 300mm in width and 600mm high
30cm X 30cm X60cm
The 60cm high is making it more difficult for the female to throw out the shavings from the nest. The Diameter of the entrance hole should be about 8 cm across
Hope it works! :D
