It's possible your "grey" is something else entirely. If you could post some pictures of the wings that would help alot.
If it's a silver the wing tips would be slightly brown, if it's fallow the wing tips are light instead of dark like normal grey. Or it could be a fallow silver which may be some lighter combination of the above.

I would like your opinions and please tell me the difference. Sometimes he even blends into my blue carpet!! In the sun he can have a blue shimmer on the grey. I didn't know there were so many combinations of a ringneck. Will the colors change as he gets older?

You have a beautiful grey baby. The colour will change slightly and get darker on the head and wings.
