I'm getting ready to get my first bird, hopefully this coming spring or earlier, but I just keep changing my mind on what I want!
I had my entire heart set on an IRN, and I still do really, but I'm just worried about the noise. I live with my boyfriend, we've been together for over a year now, he owns the house that we live in but there is one tenant upstairs (But is a friend we know). I'm just worried about how loud an IRN would be for 'apartment' living. This is really the only reason that I keep switching between that and a cockatiel.
I'm worried if I don't end up staying here, if this relationship doesn't work out (Knock on wood!!!) that if I have to move to a big apartment complex, or to my parents for a while, if having the IRN around would be an issue. I know it has a lot to do with how you raise it, but I know birds will be birds!

My dad used to have a cockatiel when he was younger and he's said nothing but awesome things about it! I know they are less vocal but I love their singing as well. In my mind I think it might be best if I get a cockatiel as my first bird, and perhaps an IRN later in life when I have my own house, when I'm fully settled.
Is there anyone who has had both a cockatiel and an IRN that can give me some type of comparison? or something of the sort?
How loud are your IRNs on a typical day?
