New to IRN's HELP

Post by super_nerdy »

Hi all,

i'm new to IRN's but have had birds in the past - the lil guy is apparently 7/8 weeks old and seems fairly wild. Was is the best way to get him to bond with us?

We only got him less than 12 hours ago and I havent seen him et - is this normal? We have given him cocktiel seed so fr along with half a strawberry, part of a banana and a millet spray

Any help is appreciated

Was he handraised by a breeder? That is good to know since IRN's can be difficult to tame if they are not soon taken away from the parents and hand raised by a human. The bird is young still, so don't give up! He will come around, it will take time. Good luck.

He is parent raised, and I'm happy to say less 4 hours after this post he had improved 500%

He has now had his wings clipped, and heh no longer goes running away from us in his cage - infact heh is now calm enough to hop up on to our hand and is getting used to the idea of up. He has allso eaten some baby bird formula from a soon and eaten some apple
