Help With Colour

Post by ABitCuckoo »

Hi All,

I'm just posting on behalf of my father who is the bird breeder.

He has just bred the following:

Male: Grey/Green (split for either blue or blue cinnamon)
Female: Sky Blue (I think this is normally caled a blue cinnamon?)

The babies are:

1 x blue
1 x green
and
1 x a dark olive green colour

We are a bit unsure of the colour as it is different to all the others my father has. Would anyone have some idea what it could be?

I have tried to attach a photo so hope it works it is the one on the top left.
Bird is on top left
Bird is on top left
Thanks for any help

Hi,
The male (farther of the babies would be split blue as you got a blue baby. here is the outcome

1.0 grey(sf) green /blue x 0.1 blue cinnamon

% from all 1.0
25.0% 1.0 grey(sf) blue /cinnamon
25.0% 1.0 blue /cinnamon
25.0% 1.0 grey(sf) green /blue cinnamon
25.0% 1.0 green /blue cinnamon

% from all 0.1
25.0% 0.1 grey(sf) blue
25.0% 0.1 blue
25.0% 0.1 grey(sf) green /blue
25.0% 0.1 green /blue

I think it is a grey green in the pic.

Thanks for the info.

I was thinking the same as you. It just looks so different from all the other grey/greens my father has so I was confused.

The picture doesn't show how dark it really is - a beautiful bird nonetheless.

Thaks again :)

Can you post a picture of the parents? Perhaps a picture offspring beside the parents?

Thx.
