hrm i dont understand all these things you keep putting up about colours and shiz lol but i want to know what colour the cock and hen have to be to get violets? i'd also love to breed my female lutino with my blue male, what colour would their babies be? my male is a really pale blue with bits of grey on him!!
Hi there BASICALLY at least on of the birds must have the violet gene. (look violet in some way or as i learnt recently be albino masking violet)
If you then want to be able to get normal violet babies you will need to either breed it
with another violet or a blue bird.
Regarding the Lutino with the blue pair as long as they dont carry another colour gene then
all the babies will be green.
Hi as long as the birds are not split to anything then this is the result.
1.0 grey(sf) blue
x 0.1 ino
% from all 1.0
50.0% 1.0 grey(sf) green /blue ino
50.0% 1.0 green /blue ino
% from all 0.1
50.0% 0.1 grey(sf) green /blue
50.0% 0.1 green /blue
All the babies will either be visually green or greygreen
Not exactly there are colour you can breed her with to get different coloured babies, it really does depend on budget. So far the cock bird you have picked will produce green or grey green babies.
Examples as long as the hen isnt split to another coulour.
1.0 blue ino (Albino) all the babies would be lutino(yellow)
x 0.1 ino
% from all 1.0
100.0% 1.0 ino /blue
% from all 0.1
100.0% 0.1 ino /blue
If she is split to blue and your pair her to an albino.
1.0 blue ino
x 0.1 ino /blue
% from all 1.0
50.0% 1.0 blue ino
50.0% 1.0 ino /blue
% from all 0.1
50.0% 0.1 blue ino
50.0% 0.1 ino /blue
you would get lutino and albino babies.
If you want to get different results you need to start to spend more money and by different mutation or find a breeder that can garentee double factor and then that depending on colour can change the results.
ahhhhh cool. i haven't got a cock yet! i'd love a violet or cobalt baby, but if i got one i'd keep it for myself lol i've got a light blue male to breed aswell but he's only 6 months old. when he gets older i'll get a hen for him!
1.0 blue violet(sf)
x 0.1 ino
% from all 1.0
50.0% 1.0 green /blue ino
50.0% 1.0 green violet(sf) /blue ino
% from all 0.1
50.0% 0.1 green /blue
50.0% 0.1 green violet(sf) /blue
you would get green and green violet babies.
Thanks Glenn.
P.S. I am going to stay mature and not comment any further on they way you frased your sentence.
their toe nails are black!! yep im hand raising them for my friend, they are so gorgeous but these 2 are sooooo stubborn seriously they aren't interested in their food, i've tried EVERYTHING but nope they refuse lol the lil buggers! this photo was taken today lol yes it is a lot of work but i love doing it :]
ahhhh very nice, think my friend would be happy if they were cobalt! the bubs are 5 weeks old now, they have both just started standing awwww and last night one of them was flapping heaps it was sooo cute lol its going to be so hard to give them back!!
really? its so amazing, i love it!!
ahhhh haha that sucks. what do you do? i work at coles lol its ****
Have you been asking on the site for advise on what to feed the little buggers as they get older.
You see alot of people with the same issue after raising them they cant give them back or sell them.
And yep it sucks i wonted to get a few rides in on the break but i cant go to far now cause if my pager goes off i need to be able to return calls etc. (Mite try and sneak one in anyway)
I install/maintain/service etc PABX (telephone systems) and network them across Aus, travel all over the place and always meeting new people its not bad, but it is hard to keep up with the technology! It changes so fast and i have to keep going in causes every year.
Coles! nothing wrong with that you got a job! It pays the bills and allows you to have a bit of a life. R U studying at the same time?
nope lol im gunna put them in the lil cage tomorrow and a lil bit of fruit in cause i've noticed they've started picking at things!
ahhh sounds like a awesome job, traveling everywhere!! :] man this is my 7th year at coles :[ im so over it. nope not studying. i'd love to goto uni to be a avian veterinarian, or work in a zoo :]
