Hi, I mentioned in a post a few weeks ago that when my mother went to talk to Ziggy (well, made clicking sounds really) he sort of went all mental, seemed to lunge at her and started calling but not calling. Hard to describe - sort of shouting at her really.
I thought he was going to attack her.
However, I had friends around for a BBQ yesterday and Ziggy did the same to Ivy - yes, another female. He seemed very relaxed - feet weren't gripping my hand - and leaned towards Ivy to nibble her mouth. He also happily went to her hand. However, he did this calling thing again and didn't stop until I moved him away from her and/or she stopped talking to him.
Only does it to females.
Ideas?
Doesn't seem upset, doesn't try to get away.
(and now around 14 weeks old)
Thanks

Stu! welcome to the bluffing stage
There are some types of noises that trigger them to attack your face. (don't know why)
Sometimes the sound of a different voice. I would not allow him on anybodys shoulder while he is in this stage, someone could get a bloody lip or worse. Do not let your guard down during this stage, they will get you when you least expect it.

Cheers, thought it might be but doesn't do it to me or any other males.
Mind you, is only me and him in the house normally so only sees other people when there are visitors.
Am not looking forward to tomorrow as he will be on his own for most of the day as I will be on the road with work and the weather shows no sign of cooling so the car would be a deathtrap.
And that means he will be in his cage most of the day too - but then he plays in it quite happily most of the day with the door open..

My opinion would also be, not being bought up with other members in the family for as a young bird she only was with me for interaction...she to will only be happy on my shoulder..
