Re: What is it?
I would have to agree with a Turquoise grey cleartail and a hen.The distinct light ring around neck like hens get and also the pink legs.

Re: What is it?
My thought is Indigo Grey Cleartail
I am owned by my birds...and I wouldn't have it any other way
Re: What is it?
Turquoise grey cleartail hen it is.
An Indigo would not have as much psittacine/yellow esp. in head area of a young hen.

Re: What is it?
It was the tail, the black stripe seen in pic 2 that made me do it.
my initial reaction : is this a Harlequin CT?
not my bird.
Here's another tail's tail

Re: What is it?
Can't be harlequin ct because of the dark main flights and the over all body color. But maybe they are split for a rec. pied mutation or even cleartail is a pied mutation.Ring0Neck wrote:It was the tail, the black stripe seen in pic 2 that made me do it.

Paul has such "pied ct" too and i think some breeders from SA also.

Yep. thought about that for a while now....But maybe they are split for a rec. pied mutation or even cleartail is a pied mutation.
It is odd that my "white Pied CT" bred no pieds from 4 young, curious to see if i get any this season.
the only young i kept from them now 10 months old

I haven't seen any. You know who? I bred some double splits last year, but I'm far away from the pied ct combo.madas wrote:Paul has such "pied ct" too and i think some breeders from SA also.

Re: What is it?
This bird was purchased as a one year old CHCT that moulted in it's pied markings on it's second year moult which it held stable until it's third moult where at that point reverted back to CHCT and it still is today this bird is a member of a family that forms the base of all the CHCT in my collection and also a friend of mine whom i got her from and neither of us have seen it since (unfortunately)
Re: What is it?
Paul is this ex pied cleartail a cock? if yes then theres an explanation for the disappeared markings.
